Here is the list of roster moves today, making it down to 75.

RB Baron Batch, LB Stevenson Sylvester, OT Mike Farrell, WR Tyler Shaw, OT D’Anthony Batiste, WR David Gilreath, CB Ryan Steed, TE Peter Tuitupou, QB John Parker Wilson, WR J.D. Woods, and RB Jeremy Wright all released.

Justin Cheadle and DeMarcus Van Dyke were waived injured.

DE Nick Williams was placed on IR and Sean Spence to Reserve/PUP.

    So who surprises you?
I was slightly surprised by Gilreath, but not shocked, I knew he was in a battle.
Who are you glad got cut?
I gotta say Baron Batch. He`s had his chances, although injuries probably didn`t give him a chance to show his full potential.
Also, I didn`t see if any of those were signed to practice squad.
I am assuming they were all cut outright?
Also, slightly disappointed in Sylvester, not the decision to cut him, the fact that he didn`t pan out... Always thought he would get his act together...

    Another question.
What does the reserve/ PUP list mean for Spence?
Another chance next year if he recovers?

The biggest surpise to me was JD.Woods.
Humm, it also appears that the Moorman/Butler (or yet to be named) battle is alive & kicking. :hmmm:

He's been banged up (hammy or something) and he only played a handful of snaps in one game and that was it. so yes he is injured and they can IR him.

With Moye and Brown ahead of him Woods had no chance (unless one of them got hurt). He could end up on the PS though.

I dont believe they can form their practice squad until all cuts are made and the season is ready to start (so within the week).

My thoughts....surprised they cut Batch so soon...maybe LaRod and/or Redman will be able to play in the final game. Sylvester...while before injury he seemed like close to a lock to make it...what makes it worse is his own teammate hurt him...but as they say you can't make the club in the tub. Wilson...I figured he'd be in the last cut so him and Landry would play most of the last game, guess we'll be seeing a good bit of Landry and Bruce then. JD Woods...PS bound unless someone else takes him. I figured Willams and DVD would go on IR directly....but if he clears waivers he'll be there. Thats about it....sad my namesake (Steed) is gone though, haha.

Yeah but, I sort of expected JD.Woods to make it until the final cut, then they'd try to get him on the practice squad. But heck they cut him and still kept Kashif Moore.

It seems odd to me that anyone who couldn't make the top 75 would be signed to the practice squad. If that is what they were thinking, why not keep them around another week before cutting them when rosters go down to 53?

I think that is a different "injured reserve" list, they are only allowed to put ONE player on, to come back in week 8 or 9.
I`m thinkin, maybe La`veon Bell, Heath, or now Jarvis Jones(depending on diagnosis), or someone else, will take that spot.
As far as I`ve heard/ read, Spence is a long shot to come back, at all, but if he did, he could help us considerably...
Of course, that was before our backup LB`s played so well so far, in the pre-season..
I rally hope Bell, Heath and Jones can come back before week 8, but who knows how bad any of them are really hurt?
    GO STEELERS!!!

I'm just glad to see Batch gone. Do you think Sly getting hurt on that Wheaton play in week one had anything to do with him getting cut or was he probably a goner anyway?

Actually Heath will be activated before the season starts so he is eligible before week 7. Hopefully he's only gonna miss 4 games.

McCoy didn't make it past the first cuts last year, and they signed him to the PS. It happens, but yeah...they're methodical with their cuts.

Batch was just taken up a roster spot. he never did much when given the chance. i would much rather see them keep Jones. right now i think the rb situation is Dwyer, Redman, Bell, with LSH and Jone fighting for the 3rd down spot. Dwyer is your starter. might not like it but hes the only one that has been healthy and hes has had a pretty good preseason. Bell hasnt shown he can stay on the field, Redman is solid, but he hasnt been on the field, LSH looked real good in the 1st game, but has been hurt and we arent sure about Jones yet.

Now that Batch is cut does this means Jones is for sure gonna make the team?

That's where I'm at too, basically. (Except for Steed haha)

I figured Batch was likely to get cut, but not until the 53 man cuts. Same with JPW, just because I figured they'd want to keep him for a body during the final game.

I really hope Moye gets a lot more time and I figure he will and do you think we can see him and Wheaton out there together? I'd like to see some of those young guys really giving it their all. I'm kinda excited to watch the last game just to see if maybe we get a glimpse of the future ya know?

TTF. Do you think Mike Golic is going to be sneaked through to the practice squad? No idea why we haven't seen him for 1 down. I just think he hasn't played one down, why didn't he go today?
