First, they pay Garrett all this money and causes a balloon rise of pass rushers contracts.
Now, they have traded that same player to the rams.
They should be banned ... just from mere stupidity and not be allowed to pick in the top 10 for the next decade

What is the dead cap for the browns by making this deal?

Watson cost the Browns a massive amount of cap space and turned into a total public relations disaster for the franchise. By trading away their best player in his prime, they basically folded on the 2026 season before it even began.

The factory of fan sadness in Cleveland is running at an all-time high right now — and for this fanbase, that’s really saying something.

Because the trade will be processed after June 1, the Browns will carry $15.53 million in dead money from Garrett's contract on their 2026 salary cap and the remaining $25.56 million in dead money in 2027.

Its actually a good move for the Browns, its not like they were winning with Garrett. Better to just off load him and start over. They also got a 1st rd pick and a pretty good player in return, it isnt going to change their franchise anytime soon but its a step in the right direction in my opinion.

Just read that Verse was born in Dayton and went to HS in PA. He’s been a Browns fan since he was young. That probably has a lot to do with the trade.

The question is ... how will this effect other players on the team ... come free agent time or sooner?! I see a mass exodus!

I mean... Jared Verse winning DROY and being a rising young pass rusher on the rise would also. Not saying that being born in Ohio doesn't help. However, talent is King in the NFL.

No matter where a person is born, talent reigns Supreme.

I need a job with the the Cleveland Browns
They apparently throw huge amounts of cash at everyone
No idea what they are trying to or not trying to accomplish
Give the race baiter all that money last year
Than let the race baiter go this year
We have a winner in Mason
No longer will get hit in head with a helmet
F da Browns and that sorry human being perfect landing spot for him in LA

Kinda sorta but not really feel bad for that fan base
Moved them out of Cleveland to Baltimore in the middle of the night
    Awful organization or better yet
    Awful owners

You do realize they are different owners than Modell who moved to Baltimore

And a big part of that was the city

Modell wanted a new stadium and the city said no do he moved

Then they built a new stadium to get a new team

    Yes
But does it really matter who the owners are at this point
    One in the same
    On another note
Who would voluntarily live in Cleveland?

    Doesn't sound like it;

"Verse told Browns reporters: “It caught me by surprise. I loved LA. I love the coaches, the organization, the coaches, my teammates, everybody who is part of the organization, the staff. I loved the whole vibe of LA, Los Angeles, the Rams. It was upsetting, I was upset for a good little bit of time. But when you’re an athlete, you understand the nature of the business. Everybody does what they think is best for their business and that’s the situation I am in.”

Was talking to a buddy of mine that is a huge Browns fan. Asked him if they were tanking for a QB next draft. He claims the Browns are expecting to get 9 wins this season. Monken cleaned out a lot of dead wood in the locker room. He's been a hardass in OTAs with the players.

I'm gonna go ahead and predict it now.......

The Browns will lose Verse in free agency and the rams will re-sign him to pair with Garrett

Read where the deal included Garrett could not be traded back to the other AFC North teams.

I actually think its a good deal for both organizations.

Hard to believe the stains once had Mayfield, Garrett, and Chubb.

I initially thought about this as well.

Given how the likes of Jim Schwartz is no longet there in addition to the fact that Cleveland still doesnt have a QB, I can see things getting messy very quickly. However, have to let the season play out.

    Who knows?!
