Yet it was ok for you to think Tomlin should be fired after 3 straight playoff apppearances, and playoff apppearances in 2020,2021,2023,2024, and 2025 Double standards much

Popcorn was stagnant and going nowhere. His schtick was old and worn out. Tomlin was a 20th century throwback coach. Steelers need a modern head coach with a mind for offense.

True but the eagles have been in the super bowl 3 times(and won 2) since the last time the steelers win a playoffs game

You really like to post just to see your words after refreshing don't you?

Haha. Good for you. I recall the Summer School paper written by the two friends, when they used "very, very, very, very, very..." a bunch of times to meet the minimum set by the teacher. I get that vibe from you're rants, raves and random, spinning, verbal hand-grenade sessions (daily).

I've always liked Tomlin. He had the leadership side down, just always had flaws in the roster he could not overcome.

One note re: the quote above would be that Shanahan, who is a modern offensive mind and probably the best OC in the league, has yet to win a title. Meanwhile MacDonald, who is a defensive mind in the head coach position, has already won his first title in Seattle.

I don't disagree that the quality of the coach on the scheme has to be high nowadays. MacDonald for example is elite as a DC, and has done a lot of work on streamlining defensive reads and packages, as well as how they're coached, so he is very much a cutting edge coach. Though it seems to me that one of the most overlooked aspects of these coaches is how well they pair with their GM to ensure good influx of talent and the overall roster building side. That has been where Shanahan comes up short I think, and you don't find out until the playoffs which makes it painful.

McCarthy I've always felt was a bit of a buffoon. But this first offseason was really something. Been a long time since I've seen a FA and draft window like this and I think we're going to feel that influx of talent. If you'd asked me a couple years back to compare Tomlin vs McCarthy I would have taken Tomlin. No doubt about it. But after looking at what McCarthy and Khan have done with this roster in such a short window... I'm all in on the fat guy.

And the Chiefs have been how many times since that time. I will let you in on a little secret. It goes in circles. No matter what You do, or think is being done. One injury, one fumble, one int, one sickness, and many other things are factors. When You watch football longer you will see this. You should be grateful that you have actually seen your team make a SB, and win a SB, ans so far haven't really sucked in many years. Many many people that are fans of teams have not. Yet here you complain about a team that has averaged 10.5 a season for 22 years. How hard it is for some. LoL. You are like the rich kid that was born with daddies money in your pocket, and then tells everyone how money isn't everything. LoL
No matter how you slice it we have 6 SB wins, and the Eagles got a long ways to go to reach that.

I never talked about the entire history of the Steelers, just their recent history, which has been mediocre.

Sorry, as a person that actually watched live 4 of our SB wins, and 6 SB appearances, I can't forget them, some of you go on , and on about the Bills for example, I've yet to see them win a SB, and I've yet to see them even make one in a really long time. I promise you that their fans would give up their 5 years straight of playoff wins, for our SBs in the 2000s, and our just making the playoffs , and no losing seasons since. I freaking guarantee it.

Eagles, Chiefs, Rams and Patriots are far superior franchises when compared to Steelers, AT PRESENT. This is a fact and is undeniable. Steelers are a middle-of-the-pack franchise. Truth hurts, but it's reality. Steelers have become the AFC version of the Dallas Cowboys. Great history, storied franchise that is wallowing in mediocrity.

You're completely changing the subject from what I was saying... Again I was just talking about recent history, and yes the steelers history is amazing in the super bowl era but this is also true that the Steelers have been mediocre for the last 10 years. Both can be true....Don't need to be mad with that.

LoL. The Cowboys haven't been to a SB since 1995. We've been to 3 since then. You guys act like 2005, 2008, and 2010 was a freaking forever ago. LoL
Guess what 10 years from now someone else will be on top. It's football, I don't know about you, but I've seen many team be on top, and many teams be on bottom. It happens, nobody stays great forever, every year.

No if You go back to the original post this started, you talked about the Eagles, and their GMs time, and I said we've been to the SB 3 times since then. Is this true , or not??

Howie Roseman is with the eagles since 2010...Andy Reid had the personnel authority in the first 3 years of Howie and Chip Kelly was the eagles GM in 2015...since that time Roseman has all the power as GM.He is the best GM in the NFL,he built 2 super bowl champions team with 2 different QB and HC in short time

You really do wear your Steelers heart on your sleeve :lolol:

It’s ok to admit that other teams have been playing better football or have better front offices than the Steelers.

Hopefully the regime change here gets us back on top.

What I'm getting at is so if he never gets back to the SB does that mean he sucks then, and those SB don't count??? Because that's what you make it seem for the Steelers.
If Andy Reid, and Mahomes never make another SB , and never win another playoff game together, but the Bills win many more playoff game during that time, but don't go to the SB does this make them better than what Andy Reid, and Mahomes did???
