    Backyard Ben vs Erudite Aaron....

Rudolph emphasized that while Roethlisberger was a Hall of Fame player, the real leadership and on‑field guidance came from the Steelers’ veteran offensive line — David DeCastro, Ramon Foster, Maurkice Pouncey, and Alejandro Villanueva — who mentored him more directly. He also contrasted Roethlisberger’s approach with Rodgers’, praising Rodgers’ film study, blocking scheme understanding, and initiative in holding weekly meetings with receivers.

btw, this isn't a knock. It's a contrast in the way two players approached the game.

One wants to be the best QB he can be

The other wanted to cash the paycheck

I've been harping on this for years. Also you add more games, and even games out of state, but You don't add size of actual roster is ridiculous.

One went to 3 SBs with two different HCs, and the other only to one.

The comments from Mason are probably at least a little bit of a knock too.

It sounds like Ben never had a good relationship with Mason (unlike other backups like Dobbs, Landry, Leftwich, Batch...).

Mason's a good journeyman backup type guy. I think he's been basically the forgotten man by everyone. And it sounds like he and Rodgers have a good relationship...and that AR gets along with Howard too.

My guess is that neither of the two young QBs on the team will be a long term starter. But I think it's good that they get to see how Rodgers works. Sounds like he's a "pros pro" or whatever.

I think Ben was a pro too (especially past the young-Ben stuff). But I also think that Ben just had abilities that even the other super-humans that play QB in the NFL don't have. So he needed less preparation than other QBs.

I've said this a million times, but not everyone is the same. I know guitar players who must have everything down to the minutiae detail, and work, and work at it, and others that all that does is over stimulate them, and make them too robotic, and gives them Analysis paralysis/Paralysis by analysis . I've seen this with musicians, different types of sports players, and fighters. We are not all the same, and different people work well differently.

Here are two headlines in the last two days:

"Steelers coaches are already impressed with Drew Allar just two weeks into his NFL career"

    Then....
