I think this person underestimates the Draw of the NFL. I don't know if there is a place on this planet where the NFL is not going to sell out an International game.

It is funny someone was saying if the NFL keeps its 17 game seasons, they could expand to 16 International games, so every team would play 8 home games, 8 road games and 1 International game.

I really don't understand all the complaining folks do when it comes to sports. Watch it or don't. Everyone streams these days.

The game keeps growing so this idea that it's being ruined is laughable.

Fans boo Goodell at the draft every year. It's cute and all but these fans are paying $20 a pop for a tall can of Ultra to hear names being read on a stage for 3 days.

What other sport has 800K showing up over 3 days for a draft?

60% of sports fans said they had skipped games because the viewing setup had become too expensive. 72% reportedly believed major sporting events should remain on free broadcast television.

Hasnt hurt the league yet but those are bad numbers for the NFL and as you said in this economy and people struggling, fatigue may set in eventually.

Because it's an American game stupid crap like making the 49ers travel to Australia and Mexico City this season.

The game is being ruined because the NFL is too greedy, you don't need games on Wednesday's, Friday's and not everybody can afford all of those different streaming services.

For me, I think this season is it.
I don't want to waste my time on it. I don't like this 10-game thing going on overseas, now it can rob fans of 2 home games.
Goodell is just trash... I've never really warmed up to him.
He's going to get an 18th game.
I don't even like the gambling side.....
So, it's time to move on I guess.

It makes those games a lesser product, but when there’s a meeting of top teams in power conferences like a typical Alabama vs. Georgia matchup, I’ll watch that over any non-Steelers NFL game. The powerhouse teams in power conferences can’t fully pad their schedules.

Not everyone but yeah a lot of people stream. And streaming is becoming a pain in the ass in its own right, with every service having its own app and dealing with multiple logins and multiple subscriptions that aren't always easy to cancel, plus rising prices and more viewing restrictions.

I don't understand how you don't understand the complaining when it comes to the most profitable sport on earth continuing to push the envelope to become even richer at the expense of their fans.

Going to a game these days requires dropping $500+ for 2 people. At least. Add another $100 if you want to eat and drink anything at a stadium.

If you're out of market, getting the Sunday ticket just to watch your team is around $300

Then if they play a game exclusively on a streaming channel that you don't have, you're dropping another ~$20 to watch it.

For those of us who can afford it all, its not a big deal. But there's a good part of the population who can't. And for them, all the money-grubbing changes mean less football for them. Sure, we don't have to watch it all but I can see why people complain.

I get that, but it still has nothing to do with what I said originally. Also you seem to leave out that only independent teams like ND can make their own schedule. Everyone else in a conference must play their conference, or do you think Arkansas just likes to play Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, LSU, and Texas all the time because it's fun??

Exactly what I said. Believe me Arkansas would love to have easier teams than Alabama, Georgia, LSU, OLE Miss and Texas all the time.
You get a few cupcakes, and then you must play your conferences

Also there are certain people that can afford it, but don't want the whole .. ok for this game I gotta have this, for that game I need this, and now I also need this . It becomes a pain in the a$$. I remember a day when if You had the NFL Sunday Ticket on DTV, you had every game played, every week. Because the only games not played on Sunday Ticket were on either local channels that were also on the same DTV, or NFL Network which was also on DTV, or ESPN which was also on DTV. I didn't need 10 different apps, and streaming services. Only one dish, and one remote.

    Amen!
Next thing you know, you have $20 here, $15.99 there, $369year etc.... charges. and they all increase..
We all bitched and whined about cable costs, you can very easily exceed that streaming.

Fans say a lot of nonsense but heres the Christmas Day ratings from last year: the Lions vs Vikings drew 27.5 million fans, Broncos vs Chiefs drew 21.1 million fans and the Commanders vs Cowboys drew 19.9 million fans. If these games didn't draw like this, then I guarantee that the NFL wouldn't be as aggressive, as they are, to expand their schedule. Perhaps an oversaturation threshold will be met in the future, but data suggests we're not close to that point.

Everybody knows the NFL is king but the way they operate is a turnoff to some people, Black Friday is a big day for college football the NFL just had to put a game on that day along with Thanksgiving eve. Christmas day was a really big day for the NBA, but the NFL just had to take over that day too with three games.

WOW, I didn't know Netflix could draw those type of "Live" numbers.

I guess Netflix could actually take over the Fox NFL Schedule if they wanted too in 2029.

It's a turnoff in May of each year, but when the games kick off, they tune in anyway.

I mean, if the games in GB, Germany and other countries weren't a success then they wouldn't be expanding it elsewhere. My red line is divisional games being moved abroad. All divisional games need to be played stateside.

I mean, most people have those subscription services, football or not, so it only makes sense for the NFL swim downstream to where the audience is moving.

Im not sure how to phrase this but some gamblers may not be betting on every game

But if there is a single game on say Friday night they might bet on that just to make the game more interesting

Starting in 2027 teams can no longer protect two home games, let's see if you're still good with it when the league takes away a Steelers home game vs the Ravens.

It's not most people maybe you should see how the current economy is going, paying for a bunch of streaming services isn't a priority.
