Complete repeat of last year :lolol:

Maybe I’ll be surprised and Rodgers isnt coming back but I think he’ll sign and be here for camp just like last time.

Why is the fanbase obsessed with a 42 year old quarterback of a fringe playoff team

    You don’t have a clue

    You stated “very possible”

    He stated “could”

This is a lesson in clickbait

Nothing credible from either of you

I mean why would anyone question a franchise that has had so much success. Go Stillers

100% .. I would be actually shocked if the Steelers did not know he is coming back. Makes for good click bait but not rooted in truth

So you want to start the season opener with Rudolph?

I sincerely hope you aren’t suggesting Allar or Howard

    That would be beyond foolish

Nobody wants Rudolph as the starter, and seriously I doubt that would happen even if Rodgers doesn't come back. Rudolph is a serviceable back up at best, and that's where he should remain. Also, why would it be foolish to start Allar or Howard, especially if one of them (or both) look good in training camp and pre season? If Howard starts and sucks, put Allar in (or vise versa) At least we'd get an idea what we got with one of them (or both) before potentially having to draft a QB in the 1st round next year.

I'm sure it's academic though, Rodgers is likely to return, and would be the safest bet at QB.

I generally agree with the point, but let’s be fair. Mason Rudolph was stuck on a bad offense with dog :poopy: coaching. Put him in this system with McCarthy and the weapons we have now, and he might surprise people. There’s going to come a point where Rudolph passes whatever Aaron Rodgers has left in the tank. Rodgers is old , and may want more than he is worth for 1 year.

I say maybe we are better off letting him go.

Thats exactly what I think would happen. Howard would start and if he sinks then they’d make the switch to Allar but I think they would want to give him as much time as they could before putting him in.

Unless he just completely out performs Howard in preseason and they roll with Allar from the start.

I think your last sentence is accurate though, Rodgers will sign this week in time for OTA’s

It's a slow news cycle this time of year.

Got to scrape around to see what they can write.

I find it funny that people I know for a fact have talked about ruining a Qb by starting them when they are not ready are now behind throwing Allar, and Howard to the wolves.
I myself don't believe in ruining a Qb, but I know many of you have talked about it that are now somehow behind it.

It's sticky. Let's say you start Howard. How bad does it need to look before you would switch to Allar? Then let's just say Allar doesn't look any better when he gets in there. Switching back looks bad now. Sticking with a struggling rookie looks bad now. It could end up looking like the Rudolph/Duck season with 2 bad QBs just replacing each other due to 'injury'. That's another bad look for a franchise.

Personally, I'm looking forward to Rodgers helping this offense this season. Add him to MM, Berbenich, and Arth, and I think we give both Howard and Allar their best chance at success long term.
