Mini camp is upon us. Some QB may go down and there is our best chance to trade Rudolph. Somebody will bite. It may only be a 7th round pick.

Presumably Mike McCarty has Rodgers phone # or dark phone #. We need a commitment from him soon. No media per AR's rules. No questions on where he is or whom.

If AR decides to retire, we keep Rudolph and let him, Allar and Howard battle it out in camp.

I think Rudolph and Roman Wilson are both trade candidates. Maybe even KJ.

What their value would return is anyones guess.

If the report is true the Steelers were shopping Rudolph during the draft, then they know Rodgers is coming back.

Mason will definitely be the odd man out if Rodgers returns (which I think he will). Nobody other than the Steelers wanted Mason last year, so they'd be lucky to even get a 7th round pick for him. I'd say they'll probably just cut him.

They won't keep 4 QB's so Rudolph is the odd man out. They aren't going to cut Howard or Allar.

Even if Rodgers doesn’t come back, I’d cut trade/cut Rudolph and sign Skylar Thompson or some other vet as insurance. Need to move on

I’m not sure if you can trade with the Canadian Football League?

Think his fate hinges on whether Rodgers returns or not. If he does, Rudolph will be gone unless they keep 4 QBs on the 53. They wont put Howard or Allar on the PS.

I'd be surprised if they trade Roman Wilson, I think they'll give him another year to prove himself. I mean, what could they get for a totally unproven 3rd round draft pick WR anyway? Not very much.

The final 53 this year will have many new faces. That’s for sure.

Im just thinking with Bernard, Eli and Wetjen added to the mix, Wilson may become expandable.

Let’s face it, hes done nothing in 2 years to warrant a roster spot. They might want to focus on the new guys and give Wilson a fresh start.

Might fetch a 6th for him.

It's possible. Like you say, there's only so much room in the WR room, somebody has to be odd man out.

No way keep Wilson they're still not that deep at WR, give him a chance to be WR4.

The amount of QBs that would have to suffer catastrophic injury before a team had the brain wave to trade for Mason Rudolph is difficult to express with exponents.

Let’s just say every other living breathing QB on the planet.

He is the only starter type for a Super Bowl run right now on the roster.

Even with the selection of Eli, Kaleb stays. Way too young and way too talented to give up on. For that matter, I expect a bounce back from him.

Tomlin should have never put Kaleb on the Return Team. Best way to wreck a players confidence is to place them in situations that are unfamiliar to them.

That's correct. Super Bowl is the goal in 2026. Art said it. That's what everyone is playing for. We are not rolling with the rookies, and should not roll with Rodgers either. We are making a run with Mason who is the best quarterback we have and part of the Steelers Super Bowl fabric. We owe it to the team, they expect the best quarterback to play and who is into it with them.

Rudolph had the best QB rating of any QB in 2023 in regular season. He played decent during playoffs in a tough environment against the Bills where George Pickens fumble put the Steelers in a situation where they were always behind. Last year, he played much better than Rodgers against Cincinnati. The team scored 28 points at Bears, which is decent. Chicago with the wind is always a tough place to play. He's not elite but definitely a journeyman QB and a very capable back up. In any case, I think Steelers will go through camp to see what they have in Allar or Howard before making decision on Rudolph. Rudolph had a much better passing college career than Allar or Howard for what it's worth. He is a much more accurate passer than what either of them have shown in college. His problem is that his pocket awareness needs improvement and he doesnt do well if the OL is suspect and you don't have a run game. But, not many Qb's do. He would be elite if he could scramble and extend plays.

Mason would certainly as good as 43 year old Grandpa Rodgers and come in a lot cheaper.
