3 number one picks at tackle the last 4 years and our starter will be Dylan Cook an undrafted free agent.

    I think TF is good.

Not sure if he can play LT though.

Jones played RT for us in his first year (not from day 1). And he had less college experience than the new guy who's name I can't spell.

If you assume that I spell like Bradshaw, you probably wouldn't be far from the truth:

    M_x <-- I don't get it.

I’m hearing Fautanu to LG a lot today….

I don’t really like the idea of that.

Fautanu’s game is more his length and speed. He isn’t gonna get low and root a guy out. We still need a guard.

You are barking up the wrong tree trying to make me feel better with mentioning Edmunds pick. LoL The exact opposite. I was against that pick also.

What do you think; Will the Steelers give Max TheAnchor #58?

Day is a little bit of improvement.
    We now have:
    - Max Iheanachor: A little bit of a reach and I give them credit for having a WR that would have been a huge plus on their chart.
Max is raw but I think we have far better coaching and maybe we have a nice blue color OT.

    - Germie Bernard - This looks like a good pick with Boston off the board.

    - Drew Allar: You had to pick a QB, there was no choice. I think this is a good spot to take one and maybe McCarthy gets a serviceable QB out of Allar or Howard. I still think they'll have to go to the well again in 2027

    - Daylen Everette: This was a reach for a 112th ranked player with a 66 grade. I like his size and if they coach well, he can overcome some of his shortcomings. But again, drafting just for need regardless of what talent is on the board, this one is questionable.

    - Gennings Dunker: Another pick I like. This guy looks like a utility type of lineman.

The trades. I can't say a lot but I think they fall short of efficient. One or two persons in the room was puzzled at the time. I am inclined to say, they got what they want but fall of short of trading with purpose to get a player that impacts your system, they just filled a spot. Even so, I'd say a B- for now.

To summarize, they are getting names to fill needs and that's not bad.
Just don't expect any fireworks and you will be fine.

As much as I hate it, Cleveland did a good job. Yes, they will train wreck every one of those picks.
Tough to call a big winner of the draft yet.

Steelers must not have felt as bad about the OT position as some suggest if they were on the phone to draft a WR in Rd1 (which I didn't want anyway). Be interesting to know their grade difference between Lemon and Iheanachor.

who cares? it won't make a difference either way. max is here and lemon isn't. grade mean nothing. how iheanachor plays on the field is all that matters. same for any of these picks.

it's not always that black and white either. next year and the year after can affect the picks this year. like who's coming up for contract and how much do they think they will have to pay to keep them here. if you have some others in place on a rookie deal, the team will have more leverage.

fautanu, frazier, mccormick, cook are all going to be coming to an end of their rookie deals soon.

In all seriousness, this isn't just being a homer...I think Bernard is a better fit than Lemon. Also, after hearing Lemon's comments after he was picked, his IQ may be single digits. He could hardly form words.

So ask yourself this, if they were hell bent on getting a OT and WR in rounds 1 and two, which would you rather have?

Lemon and Markel Bell (Would have been a 2nd round reach)

    or

    Iheanachor and Bernard

If we grade the round 1 and 2 picks as a package....then the Steelers actually did the right thing.

If the number isn't retired... then it should be used, IMO. #58 is fair game until it's retired for Lambert. Only numbers that shouldn't be used are: #32, #70 and #75.

Swann 88 and Stallworth 82 are HOF players and their numbers have been used to death since they retired.

I have no problem with not getting Lemon. The Steelers made themselves look foolish, but I'm happy with Bernard. I don't think they had to go tackle in either of the first two rounds. Safety is also a big need. They could have addressed that in the first round instead.

I have a feeling that the Jones injury is more serious than we are even speculating at this point.
