So yesterday I went off on a "suck rant" and though they truly sucked on Monday night there is reason for hope IMO. Watching this team commit the same mental and physical miscues that caused us to miss the playoffs last year has been frustrating for me to say the least. Penalties, OL breakdowns in pass protection and turning the ball over are all problems that can be fixed. We need to see improvement in these areas. With that being said, there's a lot of talent up and down the roster. We have two defensive rookies that look like the real deal, a RB that the coaching staff is very high on and a WR that has shown the ability to make big plays. Our QB is an elite talent with two SB rings and we have a young talented OL that needs to gel and get comfortable in a brand new scheme. Some perceived weaknesses (ILB and DB) actually look to be deep and talented. The ST's unit has looked bad but it's important to remember that most of the guys that have been playing on that unit won't be on the 53 man roster. I have faith that the condensed version of the 2013 Pittsburgh Steelers will look better than what we've seen to this point. I'm a Steeler fan and have been for 40 years. I've seen a lot of up's but I've seen some downs as well. This roster doesn't have the feel of the 80's to me, there's just too much talent for that to happen IMO. So, I'm going to maintain some optimism moving forward. After all we our Steeler Nation and the Pittsburgh Steelers are used to success. I see no reason, with the current coaching staff and roster, why that can't continue. Am I just trying to convince myself? Maybe but if that's what it takes to not jump off the bridge, so be it.. Here we go Steelers..

There is nothing wrong with going off on a "suck rant", we know that you were just fustrated and so were many other Fans. I was so pissed yesterday, I woke up early, here in Mongolia to see that poor performance that the boys put together, but like you stated, I think we have a good roster to make a strong move this season but we will see.

I'm feeling much like this as well. And you've hit the nail on the head about the talent on this team.

yeah we have a strong roster... unfortunately most of them are in the PUP list.. IR, in a walking boot, held out of practice hurt.. out till october... out 6 weeks.. out 10 weeks... out for the season.... take your pick... we got 1 or 2 guys on each of the lists.. id love to see a list of all the guy in the NFL by team that are on some type of "miss playing time list" and see where we compare to the average team in the NFL... they year we won the SB we did so because we had very few injuries ... seems every year we lose a top rookie for an extended period of time..

I used to think it was lack of talent, but for tonight only I am going to go with NFL conspiracy- everyone knows the Steelers are the NFL's Chuck Norris
