Yep Bicknell Jr sucked and Pouncey lead the group on the field in sucking.. We suck by example around here.

A couple people on this board are comparing him to Dermonti Dawson. Last year I thought we might have been better off moving Pouncey to Guard, but this year we don't jack behind him. I hate being a pessimist, but could really see this season as being a disaster of epic proportions. Any interesting picks in the top ten next year?

The bad news is nothing positive to report for the OL after 2 games..the good news they have time to fix the current problems by reviewing film continued practice and more playing time. I believe the major issues can and should be resolved by Sept. 8th

If the team continues its flat performace in 2013 i foresee changes in the coaching staff and it could be sooner than later! I wouldn't take the Rooney's kindness for weakness one has to remember this is a business.

If that scenario comes to fruition Tomlin won't be going anywhere, but Haley will be gone. When you take a perennial playoff team w/ a franchise qb to 8-8 in the first year and possibly worse in the second you're done.

I'd be a lot more inclined to believe that if we hadn't sat through so many bad years with Arians, but that's just me.

I'm guessing you've just forgotten about ring #6 and a legit shot at #7 while he was the OC. Not to mention running the ball significantly better under Arians, better time of possession, yards per play and the list goes on and on and on and on

Haley had one directive, protect Ben and he couldn't manage to get that right. Injuries? We actually had more the prior year and ended up doing more with less.

I've seen one or two Oline players get a penalty in a game before, but this is the first time I have ever seen all 5 get a penalty in one half, actually the holding call on Adams was hilarious, since it was a bear hug, I mean, come on at least try to be subtle about it, after 3 weeks in camp and two games, these guys should be fined for impersonating NFL lineman...

    cut him some slack
    he practiced opposite Harrison too
    so
maybe they thought it was legal to bear hug and choke the DE or OLB:shrug:

At this point I am not freaking out about this, but I would like to see improvement at some point. These guys are young and learning a completely new system for most of them. I can be patient with that, but I want to see things gradually getting better.

I thought the O line looked great when they were jogging off the field as a unit after giving up several plays. Good stance, and technique.....

Belichick started two rookies on his oline and they played like experienced pros, being young is no excuse, coaching them up is the missing factor on this oline, seeing no improvement is an example of bad coaching, not inexperience....

great is a strong word. not at any point in that game did i say to myself, wow this oline looks great. they were "ok".

they are not giving the offense any time to actually let the plays develop. we can get all over Ben for holding the ball too long, but he needs more than 2 seconds to actually find a target. most of the time the wrs hasnt even started his route by the time Ben is under pressure.

this oline will be their down fall if they cant figure it out.

lots of people like to think Pouncey is a great center, but ive always thought he was overrated. he had a decent rookie season, but since then hes been very average at best.

Nope, I didn't forget, but one coach doesn't earn SB rings all by himself and every team has it's weak links. Sometimes it's players, sometimes it's coaches, sometimes it's owners, sometimes all of the above. Arians never impressed me, neither does Haley for that matter.

One thing I wonder is how vanilla teams take preseason. Steelers definitely do.

I think we have played Shanahan teams in preseason in the past where it seemed like they game planned a little? It seemed the skins were sending some regular season type blitzes?

Redskins D should be really good though, their 2 OLB's are elite.

I'm worried though because it seems this line is still in learning mode. You want them to be mastering this new blocking scheme in the next 2 weeks.

I'm seeing the same confusion that I have seen since they switched to zone blocking. They aren't sure who they are suppose to block and if the defense stunts they get really confused. When they straight up grab the guy in front of them they do better.

Not sure I agree with that assessment. Those guys were getting beat 1v1. I keep hearing about talent, but I see other teams "talent" at least manning up and handling a 1v1 assignment. I'm all for systems and working as a team, but these guys should show something even when they're not on the same page.

They don't look any better and I'm starting to believe it's coaching. They don't seem to have a mean streak in either of them. Some fire. I wish we had Colon and Kemo back. At least they showed some fire.

And what's worst we don't have anyone to switch them out with. You can even make changes in the lineup because the backups are 10x's as bad.

Maybe moving Pouncey to guard to take Foster spot and making Malecki the starting center. Geez! that's bad.

You know it's bad when we start hankering for the return of Colon and Kemo.

I also wonder how these guys practice. Well, they practice against our defense that has no pass rushers and can't rush the passer and there is the reason why the oline sucks so bad when pass protecting.

They get in the game against speed rushers and a dominate 4-3 defense and they look as lost as ever. They have no one to practice against.

Ive been asking and wondering the same thing for a few years now. I can't seem to get a answer. We have as much talent if not more than most teams in the league on defense. Statistically we are one of the best but I often question that as well. How in the world do we have any success at practice against our D? How do we get such glowing reports about this guy and this guy and then as soon as we go up against another team that isn't even on our Ds level we look clueless and unprepared.

i strongly believe that you play like you practice. There must be something fundamentally wrong with the way we go about our practices. There is no other way to explain why our offense never reaches its proclaimed potential. This is and has been a problem for too many years now especially with all the high draft picks that have been used to put this O line together.

It is so frustrating to see so many of these other teams with elite QBs give their guy all day to throw and Ben is constantly running for his life, literally and figuratively. We've waited so long for a franchise QB like Ben and I'm afraid whatever h has left in his career is being wasted. I remember the down years all to well and what we are now seeing is just sad.

Mac. Your quitting on your BUCKEYE #1 draft pick for a UFA? LOL. I have said it for years, whoever is evaluating OL for this organization in the last 10 years NEEDS to be FIRED.
