QB, WR, Line of scrimmage are high on my list.
No QB in the first round.
WR's, I think we can pick up later.
At 21, I think can pick an OT or just take the Best Player on the board (we need impact players)
I don't think there's any player they will move up for in the first.. and trading down doesn't make sense.
Omar sucks eggs at picking BPA, so I'll go with OL.

    Oh that clears up everything.

I think Vega. Weidl and Khan are going to want to continue to fortify that line. And may have yet even more work to do with the Jones situation.

I'll go with Ioane, but won't be surprised if it's one of a dozen other guys.

Didn't Khan try to say at the pre-draft press conference that their first round pick doesn't necessarily have to be a top 30 visit guy.

History suggests otherwise. However, I could see them drafting someone in the first if there was a high level presence at the player’s pro day (Khan and McCarthy were both at the Georgia pro day). I would be very surprised if we drafted someone in the 1st round that team leadership didn’t have solid in person contact with (beyond just a 15 minute combine interview).

Maybe with a new HC they're doing things differently they had planned to go to 6 pro days but ended up only going to one.

reason being the later round guards they have been looking at as well. of course there are some later round tackles as well.

Would you spend a 1st round pick and commit to a fully guaranteed 4 year contract without having a good idea of who the player is beyond his game film and combine results? It’s like hiring someone for a critical job based on their resume w/o an interview.

It's hard to get too locked in on one player unless they move up. So much of what they do will be situational based on who is still on the board.

I am hoping that when the Steelers pick they have a couple guys there that they really like. Say Ioane, Proctor, Cooper, Concepcion, one of the top corners, a top safety, and maybe another surprise player drops. To have their pick of those players is great, but we don't know how they rank the players behind them at the same positions.

There are going to be a ton of teams looking to trade back, but man that would put them in great spot if a team wanted to trade up a pick or two. The Steelers can then get another high draft pick in this year's or next year's draft and still get one of their top picks. It may also give them the ammo to move up to snag another one of their priority players in the early second round, or simply use the extra pick to draft another player in the first couple rounds.

This is going to be a very interesting draft to see how they approach it.

    Senior Bowl
    Combine
    Area Scouts

New HC is trying to instill all new systems with all new coaches and he said it was his priority to have that up and running now

    He has Omar and crew

    I don’t see a big deal

I also see next year could be different

lomu is a guy i haven't seen a whole lot of draft buzz about. he tested very well, beat fano out for the left tackle spot at utah, is young and has long enough arms to play the position. i've seen him rated about the 23rd pick. right in that sweet spot for our pick. if they looked at fano they surely saw lomu.

also we have to consider they were at the georgia pro day and ohio state. we don't know how much weight that holds with this staff but surely it would have some bearing.

moving in round two i still think is the sweet spot they will shoot for. 3- 3rds and 2-4ths. easily could gain some picks in the second and get a few guys that just missed the first.

    My guess as well.

Whether or not Brodericks situation is critical is somewhat irrelevant. Pittsburgh needs to fortify that Offensive Line ASAP. Be it Will, Aaron or someone else, that line needs an injection of youth and talent.

My guess is a Tackle if we trade up. Freeling or Proctor... basically whichever is available in an area we can reach.

If we stay put, I could see a WR, or S. I'd guess Lemon/Boston or Thienemann/McNeill-Warren

Needs additional youth and talent? Aren't we projecting 4 players on a rookie contract as starters (it would have been 5 with Jones if healthy). We have the youth... I'd argue we're quite talented too, particularly the right side with Frazier, McCormick, and Fautanu. Spencer Anderson will battle with a rookie no matter what round we draft in, and LT is really the only question mark with Jones' injury. I would've said Cook and Jones fighting for the job should be good enough... but if Jones is out of the picture, I could see T being a need. Drafting a OT and having them compete with Cook would be a fine situation. We'd be really young on the line and have the most talent we've had at the position group in a decade when our OL was arguably the best in the league with Villanueva/Foster/Pouncey/DeCastro/Gilbert.

Just draft 12 QBs. One of them has to be pretty good.

I hope they trade up a little as well. Seahawks only have 4 picks, trade up for 32? Falcons only have 5 pics, trade up for their 2nd rounder #48?
