When do you " think " we will be in position to pick in the top 10?

You don't understand the Raiders owner is about as sharp as a spoon.

Spare me a 1990's Jimmy Johnson chart. Dumb teams make bad trades all the time.

You are eating too many crayons if you think they don't. Do I have you attention now that I mentioned crayons?

You really are dumb as dog :poopy:

Up until the 11th game of the college season, Ty Simpson could have been rated as the #1 QB in the draft with Mendoza as #2 (as Mendoza played in the Big Ten and Simpson in the SEC). It is beyond dumb for the Steelers to pass on Simpson if Ty is there at 21. We are looking for a franchise QB... Rogers is gone after this year, Rudolph has proven he is not a franchise QB. Having Will Howard and Ty Simpson gives you two shots... and both QBs bring something different to the table. I like Will and will smile as I eat a barrel full of crow if he proves to be anything other than a backup... as Will was on a stacked Ohio team that my grandmother could have QB'ed into the Championship Game and he was never, ever, ever seen as the 2nd best (or even sniffed best) QB in his entire career. Again, Steelers need to pull their head out of the sand and steal Simpson if he makes it to 21.

And the Steelers would be one of the dumbest to make that trade.

I disagree Simpson has 15 career starts not many one-year guys are successful in the NFL.

100%. I challenge any TV analyst or board member here to examine Ty's first 15 games as a starter and compare them to the other QBs who were drafted in the first 15 games. 1-2-3 GO!

Also compare their schedule of rated top 25 teams played.

There is no such thing as a sure thing franchise QB to be in the NFL draft, but I think Simpson projects by year 3 in the NFL as a top 15 QB in my not so humble opinion. I will let my track record on other QB's such as hoping the Steelers would trade up and leapfrog Denver pick Nix or draft Dart who we passed on stand.

Yes--- I am high on him. The difference here is I'm provided context and background information. Where is the table to pound on? Oh, I know! It is in Heinz Feild!!

And most of those ranked teams Bama beat early in the season turned out to be not good teams.

I still maintain that Simpson played the toughest schedule of all the draft-eligible quarterbacks in 2026. Do you agree with this contention?

Even if he did it doesn't change the fact that he faded badly at the end of the season.

Now that it is intelligible I would like to express just how much this means to me coming from you

Do we offload Queen draft day? Will they move up to get Golday?

We have collected all their other recent QBs (Mitch, Fields). Even back in the day we got Tomczak.

I'd say Mendoza is the lowest rated "top" QB in his class since 2022. I forget who the top QB was in that class. It took a lot of time, and even more alcohol, to make me forget, but thankfully I forget the #1 QB pick.

Why are You not mentioning the fact that even being average Simpson played on a team that has had at the very least a top 10 recruiting class for the last 10 years. Lots of Qbs look better with that much talent. No team He goes to in the NFL will have that same amount of abundance of talent across the board as compared to the teams they played in college like Alabama did.

On the topic of trades, I would rather trade the likes of Patrick Queen, this years 1st and this years third (85th overall) to move up. That said, who is taking Queen?! Should be Dallas but Arizona is a prime position to trade down. I severely doubt they would want to do so again unless the board breaks their way.

Miami maybe?! They need... literally a whole lot. Nabbing a starter immediately with a pick swap should be a good bargaining chip imo. Now, the million dollar question; who would be the player the Steelers would select?!

Could be either Thieneman or Vega Ioane. Dillion's NFL Combine performance hard carries him here but he is adept at playing anywhere on the back end; a very valuable trait. Ioane is the draft's best pure IOL... and it is not even close.

Will be walking away with a great player either way imo. Dillion's lack of COD and subpar agility do scare me but his versatility and consistency are simply too difficult to ignore.

Simpson played on a team with a high amount of dropped passes. He played on a team with so-so ground support. He did this with one of the toughest schedules played. These are facts.

Ty also played extremely well-- better than nearly every famous QB in the NFL did in their first 15 games from a statistical standpoint. An apples to apples compassion vs history of the first 15 college games started. Try that hat on for size fellow draftniks.

He is the son of a coach, and we'll schooled despite him only starting 15 games! I want him with our first round pick.

What is his S2 score / Wonderlic?. Anyone know? I bet it was good.

Do I wish he was 2" taller and started over 25 college games? Yes. But he improves as most college QBs do with more starts, I suspect we would need a top ten pick to acquire him.
