That is such a load of crap. They were in no way a dynasty and more than half of the 2005 team was gone by 2008. On offense, that includes two starting receivers, the entire offensive line, the third-down back, and the fullback.

The defense changed both outside linebackers, half of the starting secondary, and one defensive lineman. Remember how key those outside linebacker were to those defenses. Harrison was a backup who showed flashes under Cowher. He was a DPOY under Tomlin. Woodley was a Tomlin draft pick. So was Timmons, who was a key reserve on that defense.

Don't bring up facts. Some want to live with feelings instead.
I still laugh at anyone saying they won with Cowhers players . It actually shows the total misunderstanding of how a football game is played.
In a game, the lowest average of players that play per game is around 43 players per game. That's not even including injuries, and even a player taking a break. To make the ridiculous statement by some that 10, 12, 14, hell 22 players is a team is freaking laughable, and shows no understanding of the game.

Translation: Anybody who is critcal of Mike Tomlin has no understanding of the game. Anyone who defends Tomlin is a high IQ, football genius.

Not even close, but when you compare a coach headed to the Hall of Fame to Barry Switzer, you do serious damage to your credibility in that given discussion.

Tomlin is an excellent coach, but it was time for him to go. Both things can be and are true.

What about Gruden? He pretty much did the same thing with the Bucs, after he coached the Raiders. Inherited a team with Super Bowl-caliber talent acquired by Dungy and then won it with them. Why couldn't he do that with the Raiders? Who knows, if it wasn't for the tuck rule... maybe he would have won with Raiders? Callahan took the same Raiders team to Super Bowl in 2002 season. Doesn't Gruden deserve HOF eligibility like Tomlin?

Switzer had a successful NCAA career at Oklahoma... but was only a figurehead with Cowboys while Zampese and Campo ran the show... like Arians and Lebeau did with Steelers from '07-'11.

No. Anyone that thinks that 10, 12, 14, hell 22 players on a team makes a team for any team shows little understanding of how a football game plays out.
Why is it so hard for some of You to understand on a good day with no injuries whatsoever, not even a nick , a bump, a bruise, where a player must come out for a play that at least 43 players play per game?? Most games more than that.
You do understand that if you for example only had 11 offense players, you couldn't run many different formations. You couldn't magically turn a Wr into a TE, or into another RB, or into another OLman, or vice versa, and so on. You would be stuck in the same formations, and Same on D.
This shows how little some actually know about football. So yes someone going on , and on about 10, 12, 14, and even 22 players is freaking funny.

IF Rivers and Ben were both on the board Cowher probably would've drafted Rivers, there was talk back then that's who he liked the most at QB. Cowher and Rivers both attended NC State.

And Rivers would have at least 1 SB win, had he been a Steeler. Rivers was good, but not as good as Ben, IMO.

    Exactly

Not because he didn’t want to draft Ben

He didn’t expect him to be there

And yet people still want to believe he didn’t want to draft him and Rooney had to make the decision

Gruden is a better comp for Tomlin, but his second run with the Raiders was such a disaster.
