    Very good my friend. Too many people think it is all, or only about a Qbs ability to take off in the play, and have a weird way of thinking of what a RPO is. I blame it on ESPN, and the NFLs knowledge that they have more Athletes as Qbs in college now than at any time, and less actual Qbs,so a way to try, and sell it with misinformation.

    Noticed that when I charted the above. The top RPO rushers are RBs.

    Correct. The quarterback doesn't have to be a threat to run in an RPO. It is Run/Pass/Option for anyone to run that is on the field. The quarterback makes the read and makes the decision what to do with the ball.

    The only thing the quarterbacks have to remember is that if the offensive line is run blocking on an RPO play and they decide to pass, they need to get rid of the ball quickly or they will likely get flagged for illegal man down field as the offensive linemen move to the second level to block.
