Gainwell produced more positive plays in 2025 than Pickens did in 2024. I'd pick Gainwell over Pickens anyday.... based solely on attitude. Gainwell acts like a pro.... Pickens is a clown.

As the great Mike Singletary once said as a head coach.... "Can't win with him, even though he has all the talent in the world."

 

Absomflutley, I don't see Pickens make a play like Gainwell did in the Lions game.
He would have got off the ground and taunted the defender and walked of the field there
never playing the play out

Gainwell got the ball a lot more in 2025 than Pickens did in 2024. You do know they play different positions, right? Were you fooled by them having the same jersey number?

No, show me an example of him doing something like that with the ball in his hands. I am well aware that he took plays off. I was one of the people complaining about that on here before most other posters here noticed. That doesn't mean you give up on a guy that talented, but Tomlin didn't want to deal with challenging players any more, so the team made the very large mistake of giving away a soon-to-be All-Pro for three and a day-three pick, then giving up a two for a far lesser player who was also a knucklehead.

both laughable for #1 wrs

Yeah, it would have sucked for the Steelers to have a guy who was a second-team All-Pro instead of the knucklehead who dropped way too many passes and got himself suspended for two games by being an immature idiot.

The Steelers needed at least one of them. They chose the wrong one. Pickens didn't have to go, but Tomlin didn't want to deal with that sort of challenge any more.

Metcalf is three years older and he has been i the NFL four years longer. He is what he is while Pickens clearly had more upside, which he turned into production with the Cowboys.

 

I never said he would have had those numbers, but he was a hell of a lot better than Metcalf.
