Did Kordell Stewart play in the wrong era?

They are both a team award. You are the only one saying they are different. I'm glad You are convinced, but you have no proof of that claim. Josh Allen has played on some very, very good teams, but hey don't let that mess up your dreams.

I saw him play. I was there. I did not like all the kissing, but if he would have stayed a "Slash" he would be in the HoF right now.

QB Justin Fields just traded from Jets to KC for 7th round pick. There's your modern day comparison to Kordell.

also in the news, CB Slay released by steelers in december, retires.

Kordell was his own worst enemy. An incredible talent as slash but then deep in his mind he thought he was an elite QB and that was his biggest downfall. He wasn’t terrible but if he would have stayed in his early role he would have been better throughout his career.

How so? How many playoff wins does Justin Fields have? How many conference championship appearances? Last time I checked: ZERO

    Jim Kelly
Played on some very very good Buffalo teams
    No Superbowl win
    0-4
Jim Kelly in my personal opinion
    Much better than Allen

Neil was 39-22 as the starter for us. He was the ultimate game manager who was a fairly good passer. His Qb rating for us was 81.8 No-- he did have a very good WR or TE helping him out But he was very solid.

IMO the Steelers made a mistake letting him go in free agency and going with Stewart. Neil was better than him in my opinion.

Their defense were nothing special come playoffs time....They gave up over 30 PPG in this decade when they loses and Allen don't play defense...

Their roster is also overrated like crazy in the last few years especially if you compare that with the roster the Steelers had in the 1990s

It appears you are not old enough to have actually watched NOD play

If it was third and 10 fe would throw a 5 yard out pattern and we had to punt. Sure his rating looked ok but in reality he sucked. That’s why they let him go.

See isn’t it fun to learn as you grow up.

Something else to keep in mind is that in the 90's, the Steelers were still playing in Three Rivers Stadium which didn't have the money-generating luxury boxes that the stadiums of others teams had which meant the Steelers didn't have as much cash on hand and were at a disadvantage in trying to match the offers of other teams and be able to keep their own free agents. This might be remembered before going to the old "the Rooneys were too cheap" to keep such and such player in those days. This is why building a new stadium was a necessity if the Steelers were going to compete.

    Excuses.
Yeah His 2 ints, and 3 fumbles were all his Defense fault in his last playoff game.

Hell, one of the biggest talking points leading up to SB XXX was Dallas and all their leer jet glam and glitz vs Steelers blue collar prop plane team
So happy for Dallas and Jones

Yep, that's what I always said during Kordell's time. Should have gotten someone who could throw better and made Slash a RB.

This is fact....The Denver game,Allen deserve blame for that but before that,he had 0 turnover in previous 6 playoffs game. Can't blame him for 2021,2023 and 2024
