Did Dallas have a winning record and make the playoffs with the great Pickens on their team ?

Pickens was on the last year of his contract the best they could get was a third round pick.

Kinda hard to hide game day tapes from other teams. Or his televised antics.

You have reached a point where it isn't worth arguing. Clearly your knowledge and understanding of the situation is far better than the entire staffs of 31 NFL teams.

    Enjoy your day.:icon e smile:

Are you under the impression that wide receivers can win games by themselves?

Your circular reasoning failed, so you are bailed. Got it.

Pickens caught 93 passes for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns, averaging 15.4 yards per catch, easily placing him among the top five or six receivers in the NFL. Clearly, the Cowboys saw the situation more clearly.

I mean you're hyping him up like he's freaking Jerry Rice or something .

Jerry Rice didn't win games by himself, either, but no, I'm really not. He was far better than anyone the Steelers had in 2025 and established himself among the top five or six receivers in the NFL, but no, he's not anywhere near Rice's level.

If you listen to the local media the Steelers had no intention of keeping Pickens once they traded for Metcalf, yeah keeping Pickens would've made them a better team but they decided it was time to to move on.

Thank you for confirming. As I said, 31 NFL teams passed.

And did Dallas lock him up with a multi-year contract after that bonanza last season? They see things more clearly than you do.

Makes you wonder if the cowboys are playing the waiting game. Why waste resources in trading for a guy that may be cut pretty quick other than locking him up before other teams make an offer.

Pickens' agent is the same as Parsons', and we know that Jerry Jones didn't want to speak with his agent during contract negotiations with Parsons....

Assuming that is true, so what? Your argument is basically that it was the right thing to do because it is what the Steelers wanted to do. By that logic, we can't question anything they do. I understand some folks here will twist themselves into all sorts of rhetorical pretzels rather than ever admit the Steelers made a mistake, but that is not a persuasive argument.

The point is that they were wrong to move on from Pickens. Even if it was a choice of Pickens or Metcalf, as your claim would indicate, they chose the lesser player and lost a second-round pick while adding a third in the process.

Yes, Pickens was in a better offense last year, but that doesn't fully account for the massive difference in production between Pickens and Metcalf last season.

Can you move on from this trade?

It was not a good trade for the steelers but at the same time,it would not changed much since the steelers had a massive dink and dunk offense last year with a very old Rodgers and Pickens would been wasted by the way he was utilised by the steelers in his 3 years with us....And he is not Jerry Rice

I was way more upset at the time of the Santonio Holmes trade back in 2010

They put the franchise tag on him. They can't control what Pickens chooses to accept.

The teams that passed on him were proven wrong by Pickens' production last season.

So a team that traded away their best defensive player and haven't won squat in 30 years suddenly knows what it is doing? C'mon, do better.

(and you're right, they can't control Pickens)

They weakened the team, gave up more in trade value for a lesser player who then got himself suspended for two games with selfish, immature behavior. It is comical that you think that was a win.

That tells you just how bad a move it was by the Steelers because they managed to get fleeced by the Cowboys.
