I heard Pickens was tagging Mike's side piece and that was the final act.

Players like Pickens and AB are game changers. Good coaches will change their offenses to exploit their best players abilities. If Pickens is on the 2025 Steelers Aaron Rodgers throws a lot more 50/50 balls downfield, because he knows Pickens can go win the battle for the jump ball.

Mike Tomlin was an old coach that just didn't want to deal with player problems anymore. Did not surprise me at all when Pickens was traded to a team with a 1st year head coach. Some veteran coaches just want to punch a timeclock and go home to their family.

    NOPE
Mike realised he put effort in AB and he fkd up anyway. Being older and weiser he realised the same was coming from lil georgey and proceeded to better the sitch for the entire team.

saying 50/50 would have been better
    wrong!!!
they take effort and lil georgey puts lil in.

What the hell I will say it again... You would have to be a fool to believe that Pickens would not have changed this offense last year.

George Pickens: 2025 WR All-Pro 1,429 yards receiving with 9 TDs and 15.4 yards per catch.

He wouldn't put up those stats in a Arthur Smith offense.

No...Rodgers don't want to take a hit at this stage of his career,so hard to have big play when you always throw around 2 seconds after the snap no matter what...Russell Wilson was a better fit for Pickens

Pickens never got himself suspended for two games when the team was fighting for a playoff spot, so there is that.

Wait, now you think figuring it out so the Steelers could have the best receiver in the NFL was a bad idea? End of argument. You just lost.

You think teams can't win with coaches pandering to more talented players? Do a little research into how Jimmy Johnson ran the Cowboys. He openly said there were different sets of rules for the star players.

Pickens is an elite receiver, a key component of one of the best offensive units in the NFL. The Steelers ran out a collection of scrubs in his place and the supposed star they traded for as their new No. 1 vastly underperformed and got himself suspended for being a selfish, immature idiot.

Tomlin's effort with Brown got the Steelers six seasons of the best wide receiver in the NFL. That some of you think that was a bad thing simply shows you don't know what you are talking about.

The Steelers did attempt some 50/50 balls last year, but most of them failed because they didn't have a receiver who could make those plays even 50 percent of the time.

Those were statistically some of the best seasons a WR may ever see. He could have rewritten every receiving category had he been able to maintain that pace. There shouldn't even be a debate about that. However when he went of the deep end it was quite a fall. I can appreciate what he did but still be unhappy with the details that started to come out long after he forced his way off the team. The sneaking out after curfew at St. Vincent so he could sleep in a rented house and Tomlin knew about it and allowed it was bs. Tough to build teamwork through shared hardships when one guy is giving the finger to the rest of the team that way.

You did, when you suggested Tomlin was trying to avoid a similar series of events with Pickens.

Then in addition to being cluless about Pickens, you are a very poor communicator. You actually tried to argue that Pickens isn't good at 50/50 balls, too. Comical.

Maybe your world revolves around Pickens but clearly the Steelers' didn't. McCarthy had the No.1 offense in the NFL in Dallas without Pickens.

Pickens was so desirable around the league, with so many teams wanting to 'figure it out' with him, that the Steelers ended up with one team willing to trade just a 3rd round pick for him. You can do better.

That just tells us the Steelers didn't do a very good job of hiding their desire to move him. That other teams were foolish enough to pass on the opportunity doesn't mean the Steelers were right to dump an All-Pro talent for pennies on the dollar.
