Ok slight tangent but in the early 2000's I worked for Home Depot, the 1st one built in North Dakota. Now every Sunday they had store wide training sessions after a big employee meeting. If you were new they had you stand on a short step ladder and answer questions tied to their culture like favorite color and so on. On my turn the asked they asked who my favorite driver was. I said Mario Andretti which of course they said no NASCAR, said don't care the Andretti's are from PA and Tony Stewart can pound sand.

Definitely. I am doing one player per sport. If there was a 4th, my cousin said it would be Big Ben over Crosby. And I said most Pittsburgers would never put Ben above Crosby. Ben just is not that caliber of player.

    If it were Steelers:

    Mean Joe
    Bradshaw
    Troy

I had to include an offensive player.

    Penguins might be the easiest:

    Mario
    Crosby
    Jagr

    Pirates:

    Clemente
    Stargell
    Wagner

The Pirates were tough to come up with because I don't watch them nearly as much as the other two.

Crosby is close to a top 5 NHL player of all time. Ben isn’t near a top 5 QB all time.

In 2023, The Athletic ran a series three years ago called "NHL 99: A project ranking the greatest players in modern NHL history."

Crosby was No. 4 after Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, and Bobby Orr. Crosby is already clearly in the top five already.

Well that’s just one article I’m sure there are people who could argue Gordie Howe Mark Messier and a few others. Him playing a couple more years probably ends that argument.

I doubt more seasons at his current level will change anyone's mind. He would need a great run in the playoffs and the team isn't good enough to support that.

Another 2/3 years of solid play just adds to his stats. Agree to disagree. For what it’s worth I have him top 5 myself but I am biased. The team has been good this year no reason they can’t improve into next season and contend.

    Hockey
Mario was awesome no doubt.. he's the greatest Penn in my mind.
Crosby and Jagr are right there too.

    Baseball.
Man I have a lot of favorites. Clemente is on top the list.
but Stargell is right there too.
Hebner, Blass, Stennet, Oliver, Sanguillian, so many others are honorable mentions

    Football
The Chief as an Owner is the Steelers.
But talking players, man.... Blier was a player that inspired many. Bradshaw had that gunslinger mentality, Franco just was solid, Greene set the attitude with Lambert...
It's hard for me to select one player.
I'll flip a coin and go with Mean Joe.

Goaltending and secondary scoring are the limitations that Dubias needs to address going into to next year. The playoffs this year will depend greatly on Sid and Geno getting healthy and being on the ice.

Mario might be the best Pittsburgh athlete ever in terms of size, strength, agility, and overall skill. He saved the Penguins in and off the ice.

The immaculate reception might have been the play that transformed the franchise. But Joe was the signature player who grew with the team and helped them become a dynasty.

Clemente's impact far exceeds any on field play. He was difference maker in sports and life.

If I had to choose one of these guys I would probably choose Lemieux. But no answer is wrong.

You're going to need a bigger boat. We have more men of uber significance than four.

For four names from the Steelers. Noll, Rothlisbeger, J. Greene, and Lambert.
