Always worth remembering that lines aren't anything about what will actually happen.

Just the initial best guess by the betting houses of the number where they'll get about half the people on each side of the number.

Given our reputation for not having losing seasons, this is the number that makes sense IMO.

But with the changes in the organization, going with the over might not be the easy money it has been in the last few years.

I'm actually surprised they have us at 8.5 wins when we don't have a starting QB on the roster.

I suppose the idea of Rodgers is already "priced in".

If I was someone in Aaron's camp had inside information that he wasn't going to play for the team, I'd be sorely tempted to take the under here.

 

That's because Mike Tomlin is no longer our head coach and we all know that he never has a losing season.

 

I don't know why anybody would place a bet this early without knowing who the starting QB will be.

Take the over on 7.5 wins? I think some of yinz are banking on LJ being out a month and Burrow missing half the season. Now what are the chances of that perfect storm again?

Isn't LJ been injured at least a month every other year he's played , or seems like it, him, and Burrow.
I know that in 3 out of the 7 seasons as a starter LJ has played 12 games, 12 games, and 13 games.

 

You do know you can have a better statistically team, and still have more losses than we have had in the last 3 years. Example: Ravens, Colts, Lions, Cowboys, and Bengals all scored more points then we did, and none won 10 games.

 

I think LJ has hit his ceiling to be honest. I expect him to either stay the same or be injured and miss a few games. Eventually this kind of mobility catches up to you.

 

78.5. I do believe those battling Bucs break .500 this season. And if a few breaks go our way we'll be vying for a WC spot.

We shall see. I hope we do way better than that, but I would have taken the 7.5 wins, but until I see this play out, I'm staying away from betting the over this year.

 

Tough call. I hate we won't have Gainwell next season. Be it Howard or Rodgers we gonna need the run game to be strong. Metcalf plays with his head on straight and we get lucky and have a decent #2 I'd bet the over with Howard under center.

Agreed. Betting the over on any rookie is either very brave or very foolish. Winning the division also means a tougher schedule.

I think it's more I just can't see the Pittsburgh Steelers only winning 6-7 games regardless what we have in the tank.

 

Steelers still have a good defense and improving O line. They’ll be around 500 at least.
