Ben was washed at this point but in a playoff game they punted in their first 6-7 possessions, the defense did their job early on in that game.

How many times are you going to post that same crap? The HC isn't telling his QB not to score points or turn the ball over either .

 

The problem was the lack of urgency the Steelers had at the start of this game and the arrogance of the coaching staff and some players, like Le'Veon Bell and Mike Mitchell. The playcalling was also god awful on offense during the first two drives of the game—too many screens on the first drive and two runs in the middle on the second drive to put us in a 3rd and 11.They had 2 weeks to prepare for that game....And Ben wanted to play in the final week of the season but did not play and he was a bit rusty to start the game against the number 1 pass defense

Yes, on the 3rd and 11, Ben threw a bad interception, but what makes you think the Steelers defense would have prevented the Jaguars from scoring a touchdown if it had been a punt, especially since the Jaguars had such an easy touchdown drive on the first drive?

And even in the other games, yes, our offense was awful in some of those games, but that doesn't excuse our sorry defense, which had so many awful playoff performances for six straight playoffs games before the Texans game that I'm going to give them a pass since Houston had two defensive touchdowns and the defense keep it close for a very long time even if Stroud's meltdown helped.

 

Tomlin wasted my late 40's and early 50's as a Steelers fan!

Be interested to see the terms of the deal because that feels way too high for a guy who only had 3.5 sacks last season and didn’t play about half the defensive snaps.

 

It's always interesting to see how things like that play out. They're going for it. Parsons is back and they are trying to piece together the best roster they can and hoping to catch lightning in a bottle rolling the dice on a veteran player that was a force.

These are the calculated risks teams make.

I still can't believe Kenny Picket signed a 1 year deal for $7.5 million with $4 million guaranteed. Crazy, as I thought he would be at League minimum by now for his 5th NFL team.

Difference is , I admit it. Crazy thing is people act like I haven't done this with every HC that has been a Steeler HC. The same crap of people saying I'm a Tomlin lover , is the same crap they said to me about Cowher, and if I had the internet back when Noll was our HC, they would have said the same about me with Him, and guess what, if McCarthy sticks around long enough, they will be saying it about me with Him. I have played, been around, and watched football for a very long time, and what people like to blame on HCs is a lot of time nothing to do with HCs.
