I remember him on the Steelers, I just for some reason didn't know he played at Pitt, until now.

Going back well over 60 years I couldn't wait until Sundays to get the Pittsburgh Press. My favorite comics were Beetle Bailey, the Family Circus, Brenda Starr, Joe Palooka and Terry and the Pirates. I read Brenda Starr because I thought she was hot.

These post made my mind go immediately to Pistol Pete Maravich. He was born in Aliquippa. I remember the hype me and my young friends made up about him. He would dribble a BB while watching a movie and no one complained. We made him an idol when he played at LSU. Never followed him after College.

I too get turned on by comic strip ladies. Blondie and daughter. The women of Lil Abner's were a favorite. I have not seen that comic strip for at least 40 years. My favorite homely girl is Agnes. I love her take on life. I think it depends on what comic strips the papers in your area carry. Going around the country I've run into strips I never heard of in the East.

I do enjoy certain comics. I found a site where I can go back 2 weeks before they ask for $$.

I can’t find my favorite so I’ll go from memory

Lucky Eddie at the bar orders some concoction that comes in a small cauldron bubbling over like a volcano and drinks it down, His eyes bug out, steam comes out of his ears, his hat blows off and he falls backwards on the floor.

Hagar looks down at him turns to the bartender and says “I’ll have the same”
