I don't think Aaron will sign until after the draft.

I think Aaron wants to win in 2026, and drafting a QB in the 1st round will get Aaron no closer to his goal this year. I think all Vet QBs learned an important lesson with Kirk Cousins, just because you sign a huge multi-year contract doesn't mean the team is not going to stab you in the back and do something to help them reach their long term goals.

 

Omar made it clear what happened last year will not happen this year

If you have many options at quarterback then in reality you don’t have one

 

Which is where we are now

 

A 43 year old former star, a career backup and a 6th round pick who has yet to play a down. If Rodgers returns this is probably the Qb room. Not inspiring. Seems like an unofficial punt year. 2027 is the year to keep an eye on.

 

If the plan is really to unofficially punt, then might as well do it without Rodgers. Go into the season with Howard, Thompson, Rudolph. Start the best of the 3 out of camp/preseason. Maybe something surprising comes out of it? Or maybe a high draft pick comes out of it.
