Imagine back in the day Casey Hampton on that middle toilet.

I think I would just hold it in for a bit.

I work for a multi billion dollar company. Where was my day care? Should all Walmart employees be given free day care? How about all auto industry employees? Airline employees? Where does it stop?

Only about 5% of corporate offer it but it’s becoming more and more common. It’s smart business, has its benefits for the companies that do.

If 85% of your industry competitors offered it you wouldn’t sound crazy wondering why your company doesn’t.

There is a reason for these grades. Multiple teams upgraded their family care due to complaints from players.

but can we please stop comparing our jobs to professional sports? Its a specialized small club and YOU and I aren’t in it!!! I mean, where are my 64,000 fans cheering me on for going to work today? So rude.. smh.

Does your company demand that your day start before daycares open and end after they close?
Does your company mandate that you work weekends when no childcare facilities are open?
Does your company transfer you at the drop of a hat with no notice? Making you move across the country after all childcare facilities in your new town have enrolled to capacity?

There are some rationale reasons behind the things players are commenting on.

So they're not billionaires? Personal wealth is not relevant here anyways - a team spends money it makes from NFL not the owners personal money on an ongoing business.

I will never believe the Steelers organization is NOT making *tons* of money for their owners. The question is how much greed are the owners showing in reinvesting back into the team.

People usually don't move money between their different companies unless they are shady. Each company is it's own LLC and is profitable on it's own (unless it's funded by a parent company who then also takes the profits).

Anyways, the question is does the Steelers team make less money than other NFL teams? Given the large fanbase, I doubt it. But I still don't believe Steelers, as company, doesn't make enough profits to set up more toilet stalls.

I have heard that space at the current location is an issue sure Art ll can probably do some improvements locker room wise, it probably doesn't help having to share your facilities with a college team.

When you sign a guaranteed contract, you have to put all the cash in an escrow account. Many NFL owners use their own funds for that and then pay themselves back annually out of team revenue.

NFL owners frequently backstop and procure loans/financing for facility improvements with their own cash. Then pay themselves back so to speak over time with team funds.

There are numerous other examples where team owners can leverage their liquidity for the overall benefit of their NFL franchise. The biggest reason we know this to be an issue with the Steelers is the fact that they took on more minority investors. It was explicitly reported as both a compliance thing (buy he Rooneys that own dogtracks out) and a raising liquid capital thing.

Casey Hampton should have had his own personal stall. Imagine waiting in line for him to finish?

Realistically, what do you think players look at when assessing where they want to go (if they have a choice)?

My list would look something like this:

    1. How much money am I getting / guarentees?
    2. Chance of getting to the SB
    3. Who is on the coaching staff
    4. Is the team stable? (I am not going to want a place where the turnover in coaching or players are always turning over)
    5. Where is the team located?
    6. Somewhere way down the list, I might be concerned about the facilities. If it gets the job done and is not causing injuries, it won't be a part of my decision process. Way too many other things above having childcare facilities and a latte machine.
