Who do we trade?

I didn't mention Garrett because we are talking about TJ Watt and specifically talking about chips.

I know you don't understand, but TJ Watt is an outside linebacker. Garrett is a defensive end. They play different positions in a different defensive set with different responsibilities and in different defensive systems. They have different skill sets.

Besides the basic chips on Watt, they also line up tight ends outside the right tackle a lot which changes the rush angle. Offenses have just the TE chip or double team, they have just the running back chip, or they use both the tight end and the running back so that sometimes three different players block him, and Watt is trying to figure out who is blocking and who isn't.

Watt drops into coverage more than Garrett does, so there is also that.

Everyone is hoping the new coaching staff can figure out a way to use Watt more effectively and maybe give offenses more things to worry about.

I don't think Watt is done. I think he can still play. We are going to find out unless they trade him.

I'm not definitively saying Watt is going to set the sack record next year. I'm giving an opinion based on what I see.

Please stop saying I'm wrong and unrealistic crap. Nobody knows for sure how this will play out, and you're lying to yourself if you say you do. You don't know.

This whole thing of you saying that you know definitively that Watt is done is just a silly act. Why all the posturing?

congratulations, you found a triple team! Thats a recipe for success. And yeah, thats right, Watt hasnt moved around, successfully stunted, or done much of anything this year except gotten a few opportune sacks and ints.

hes more or less done. At best he can still be a middle of the pack decent edge.

 

i dont think you understand. Edge and DE are more or less the same. Their main purpose is to get to the Qb and set the edge. Watt is even getting into more three point stances than he did before.

So you want to discount Garrets double teams to make your point? Lol. And Then you backtrack and basically agree that Watt is not elite anymore. Ok.

I'm not discounting Garrett's double teams. We weren't talking about Garrett or double teams. We were talking about TJ Watt and how often he is chipped by opposing offenses. Stop trying to act like you know what you're talking about to save face. You didn't have a clue.

Secondly, EDGE and DE are two different positions and have different body types and responsibilities based on whether the player is a DE in a 3-4 defense or a 4-3 defense in a base defense. If you knew anything about football, you would know that. You obviously don't.

I don't agree with you about anything. I believe Watt is an elite player until I see his performance drop off significantly when healthy and teams stop blocking him with 2 or 3 players on most passing downs.

Then you said some really uninformed things in regard to you not knowing what chipping a pass rusher is in this thread. When I corrected you because you had no knowledge of it while also telling everyone you disagreed with what we were saying, you told us that we are all wrong. You said I was making "stupid accusations".

You get pissed at me and get confrontational for informing you of something that you could have found out in 30 seconds if you took the time to look. Instead, you just ignored what we tried to tell you and then pretended the information a couple of us gave you was wrong. You then get huffy and lie about not knowing because you don't want to look bad for not understanding. Unfortunately, it's a little late for that now.

You are escalating these conversations and then bitching when I tell you something that you openly admitted you didn't know when it comes to chipping TJ Watt when it was brought up.

I posted that Watt gets chipped more than anyone in the NFL. Then he started responding to that.
He's the guy that made the claim that he didn't see much chipping on Watt happen when he watches the games. What games is he watching???

Now he's all butt hurt because he got called on it after he started insulting me.

Not trying to down him, he's a fan like us, but some reason he doesn't see these things. He also tried saying Watt never ran stunts. LoL. Hell he has run them many times a game. Even in our last playoff game.

 

DE , and OLB is not the same. That would be like saying a safety, and a CB are the same.
