I think that would be a big mistake to bring back a now 42 year old QB. Steelers need to suck it up and try Howard or someone equal to him. But I still maintain get that front line fixed quickly or we will have another QB running for his life.

What if we fix the WR spot ? What if we actually start using more WR'S in the patterns ? What if we actually start attacking the middle ? What if we use outside zone and sweeps behind passing patterns ? What if we run passing patterns that actually create space for the run game and the outlet pass to the RB..

These our things that the new HC is going to bring ,so why not give AR a great system and weapons ? The cray, cray thing is our Defense will actually not get exhausted and might actually get to play from ahead .If it fails you still can go to Howard ..

Most if not all the Team wants AR back , this is not because he can't still play...The most possible is our HC was bad our OC was bad and our WR room was bad ..

My take was AR played very well with all that was stacked against him , the least of his problems was his age IMO..

    This.

The upcoming draft has plenty of capable WR 2's that can pair well with D.K. Never mind that, I would still give Roman Wilson another shot. What the team needs to do is find out if Broderick Jones is worth that fifth year option. If he isn't, trade up for Kadyn Proctor. If Broderick is going to get his fifth year picked up, trade up for Vega Ioane.

    Either or would be acceptable.

You forgot the part about him not being able to move or avoid a pass rush or the fact that he won’t let plays develop because he doesn’t want to get hit anymore. Besides that though what could go wrong?

If the price is reasonable, I wouldn't be against this.

But with the MM hire and all the talk re: Rodgers, my guess is that Rooney would prefer to take the lower ceiling / higher floor call of bringing Rodgers back.

But I've also learned over the last 2 seasons that it's not easy predicting the Steelers QB moves at point.

I kinda want to see what everyone is going to do when Rodgers comes back and it looks exactly the same.

Forget the play for Safety game ..Lets attack ..As a QB why get hit unless you are a running QB...PWP has found a pocket passer he believes in...I hope Will is the future of that..

Mac Jones might be younger than Rodgers, but his mobility isn't much better.

Plus, Jones had optimal coaching with 49ers. Rams, 49ers and Packers can make average QBs look good in their systems, covering up flaws, etc.

If by chance the Steelers get Ty Simpson then having Rodgers would be the perfect choice

He could mentor Ty and Will

He could fill in until one is ready even if it was all season

No Ty and may as well look for a long term body

I had to get an ad blocker. One of the worst sites I've ever visited on the regular. Couldnt even scroll normally, it's just ads to the point where you start to get sensory issues.

Ty isn't likely going to be a franchise type QB. You'd need an elite defense and great line to have a chance but that's any decent QB. Steelers have to hit in this year's draft, and I mean hit in players that eventually are on a HOF track.

You are way too high on Ty. Maybe if he’s around in round 3.

I never said Mac was the answer. I would rather roll with Will and then see if he is an option otherwise we have a poor year and high pick for a QB. That would be the smart thing to do. So expect Art to do the opposite and bring back the corpse of AR.

I have an ad blocker... and it works good with Windows laptop and desktop, but my Android phone and tablet.... not so much. The popups are so bad now, it's about impossible to check notifications, surf threads, etc.

Mods can delete this if they like:

Firefox + ublock origin sounds like the answer to your problem.

You can probably also install something like a pi-hole on your home internet. I used to do this pre-covid, but that was before we could get fiber and having 4 people doing virtual schooling at the same time would slow down my (cheap as you can get) internet. I should probably get back to it since my kids will watch stuff on youtube on the TV (where I don't think I can install a local adblocker).

Would probably need to get a newer raspberry pi to run pihole now...but will probably look at options now. My guess is that < $100 + the length of time for a football game for setup (probably less) is worth not having ads on my home network + having a little more privacy. Although they do recommend running 2x in parallel to avoid downtime...so it might end up being more like $150.

Note: video also talks about adguard home...I have used pihole in the past and am not familiar with adguard home.
