Daniel Jeremiah had Woods rated as his 34th best player

    Fantastic.

I scout players quite differently than others; Daniel included. Peter Woods is an excellent example of what I mean when I say I am grading player outcomes instead of predicting draft position. I don't believe he will be the second overall player in the class but I do believe he will bring value relative to how I have him rated on my board.

Long story short?! Best to scout players to obtain your own opinions as opposed to solely relying on others.

His lack of production compared to his flashes on the field are what are bringing him down the board. I still think he's a top 20 prospect, but there's some coaching that needs to be done. His explosiveness and "wow" factor are there. Just needs it to click on how to be a really good football player. Its possible he outplays his draft slot immensely... But he also might just be an awesome athlete that never really figures out how to play football at a high level. You'd have to have pretty good faith that your scheme and defensive staff can make something of him.

Personally, I wouldn't mind him at 21. I think his ceiling makes it worth a shot. Would still prefer WR over DL, but DL is on the radar in round 1. As is ILB if Styles is available.

Styles is my dream pick at pick 21. That said, I truly don't believe he is going to be available. If there is something that Daniel Jerimiah does have that I don't, his vast network of connections around the NFL allow him to place prospects within spots in his mocks. Having those connections does give the reader a sense of how the league as a whole thinks of some of these players coming out. Doesn't mean that every pick that you see on Daniel's mock will be a First or even Second Rounder but it does give the reader somewhat of an idea.

Now, as for anyone other than Peter Woods for me?! I have already said Sonny Styles. Biggest one is still Vega Ioane from Penn State. Given how Mike McCarthy does love the trenches, should he elect to fix some of the WR woes with some former players he drafted back in Dallas or others like Romeo Dobbs in FA, I can easily see the Steelers opting for another position.

Wild Card is still Kadyn Proctor from Alabama though, like Peter Woods, I really don't see him falling that far either.

My dream pick at 21 is Mansoor Delane, CB from LSU.

I also love Malachi Fields, WR from ND at pick 53.

As much as I would love having Delane in the Black 'n' Gold, Corners like him usually are gone within the first 15 picks. High floor with very good ceiling to boot. Not easy to find such Corners; doubly so when they play in the SEC.

Styles would look amazing in the Black and Gold. Dude is an instant impact playmaker. I am not a betting man but man.... every time I turn on his tape at Ohio State, Brian Urlacher just screams at me more often than not.

Not a 1 to 1 comparison but the similarities are there.

most of the time you have to give up a little of one thing to get others. i don't think there is a guy that can do it all in the draft or in the league. you find the one with the least hiccups and go from there.

if we are going receiver first, i want elijah sarrett. i would not have a problem with him in the first.

if we go tackle, i want caleb tierman.

if we go ILB, of course i want sonny styles but would also except anthony hill jr.

if we go QB, i don't want one early. cole peyton or sawyer robertson.

if we go guard, i want pat coogan. this class is fairly weak at guard. coogan is solid in all aspects of the game.

if we go DL, i want kayden mcdonald. not flashy but a rock. Lee Hunter would also work.

if we go TE, i want kenyon sadiq.

if we go corner, i want d'angelo ponds. short but the kid can play and is productive.

if we go safety, i want bud clark. so i would wait for him later. the kid is a little light but he can play.

Sarratt isn't expected to run that fast I'm not sure he's a first rounder, he's considered a possession receiver I would take him in the second round though.

about the same as tate. his qb rating when targeted is 133.3 the only guy higher in the top 10 receivers is tate 145. none of the rest are close to those two. boston, brazzell, bernard are in the same speed range. blink of an eye difference. his TD receptions are far more than the other top 10 listed WR's. next closest is 2 guys with 11. sarrett has 15. that 40 time means squat when it comes down to it they are all pretty close. production isn't as close.

maybe and maybe not but i assure you the NFL teams are aware of him. the computer GM's always have their favorites and team draft players all the time that the draft niks don't see happening. they have only ranked 9 players as 1st round graded players. 9. so this year you may see many guys that wouldn't be there drafted that high. we shall see.

I disagree about the guard class.... I see this group as one of the strongest in the entire draft.....

Loane is a potential hall of famer.. the only one that comes remotely close is Emmanuel Pregnon .... Chase Bisontis is gonna make some team extremely happy ... kaylan Rutledge is another that will have a very solid career among quite a few others.. .
Coogan is very fundamentally sound, but i question his funcional strength.... I don't see him holding up very well against the stronger bull rushers in the league... he's right at #9 in my personal rankings at the position

My horse at wr is Chris Brazzell

At OT it's Monroe Freeling..... I want to see Isaiah World at the combine as well

I'm a big fan of a few mid rd prospects at ILB, but Lander Barton is my favorite

At D-line you can't go wrong with Caleb Banks ..... Banks is an engine of destruction

At TE, Justin Joly may be the best possession guy in the class

At corner, I'd love to see Mansour Delane, but that's a pipe dream...... if he runs well at the combine, I would love to see Ephesians Prysock in the fold.... i'm a fan of the longer corners on the boundary and his type of long is very rare, along with Tacario Davis

Bud Clark is gonna be a good one at safety, but I would go with AJ Haulcy or Jalon Kilgore first..... in the 5th on down, I'd take a look at Xavier Nwankpa

As far as pick 21 is concerned though, the only 4 positions I would look at are OG, WR, D-line and CB

If Lemon isn't there at 21 then I would go DT or OT. Grab WR Ted Hurst in the 3rd round.

No OT? We need a LT.

I don't think Kilgore will last into the 5th round. I think he will be gone by the bottom of the 3rd round, maybe early 4th. If we can snag him in the 5th that would be outstanding. In an auto-draft I selected him at 85(our 4th pick).

I know many are down on taking another LT in the first round. I really like Proctor from Bama. I don't think he'll be there at 21, and I'm hesitant to trade up to get him, but he's definitely on my wish list in the first. Caleb Tiernan out of Northwestern is another monster sized LT. Just not a lot on him right now, but he's intriguing as well.
