giving all that money to a 31 year old edge coming off his worst season and multiple injuries seems pretty high risk to me, not to mention signing a 42 year old Qb to lead your team to their fading playoff hopes.

Signing Darnold would’ve been a prudent move to keep the team competitive

I guess 2023 would be considered a great draft then:
    Jones
    Porter Jr.
    Herbig
    Washington
    Benton

I think knowing how this team operates, there's no way they don't give TJ a contract. It was a business decision.

i can understand the business intent, but its still not a good football move.

A draft that could help the Steelers to take a another level in a good way for the future(not just the 2026 season)... They have 12 draft picks, including 5 picks in the first 3 rounds, so they can't afford to miss their chance...At some point, they need to draft an all-pro caliber player... They haven't done that since Watt in 2017.

    Don't disagree here.

Massive 3rd contracts aren't good business (football wise).

    Cam was the outlier here.

What's sad is that I'm old enough to get all these references.

    Welcome back....

Great player but I am just not sure he is all-pro caliber yet

Sure they have. Unfortunately they became Pro Bowl and All-Pro players once the team traded them to other teams.

Pickens and Dotson say hello!
