even if howard is not the answer after we find out, why wouldn't you give him the option of good wr's to throw to. even if we have a different qb doesn't he as well need good wr's to throw to? you put your players and team in the best possible chances to succeed. we have good RB's. we need good wr's. we need a good line to find out what you have in a qb. the last thing we want is a qb that is running for his life and forcing him into dink and dunk.

It’s ok to try to find out as long as you have a much better plan in place

As @Blast Furnace@Blast Furnace stated, games are won in the trenches. All the more reason that teams like the Rams and Eagles have been perennial Playoff Contenders. Pittsburgh has invested heavily on both sides dating back to 2023 but there is still work to be done there. Given how bad this QB Class is shaping up to be (Fernando included), and one has to wonder if the team will go to the trenches again.

I personally would; Vega Ioane being my personal pick. This team needs one more instant impact player along the Offensive Line. Given how unique a player like Vega is, he is definitely worth a look. In addition, Pittsburgh has been to Penn State games more than five times already. Drew Allar likely was the target but there is no way they didn't notice Vega.

As for IDL, ILB and Safety?! Caleb Downs, Peter Woods and Sonny Styles; all three being ranked 3, 2 and 1 respectively on my Big Board. Of the three, I hope that Styles is within striking distance but hope springs eternal. These three are way too rare of caliber of talents to fall that far. Why only mention these three?!

At present, Pittsburgh has no Head Coach or DC. Who knows what the scheme will be?! The aforementioned three are scheme transcendent; no limits to what scheme they are in.

Do you have anything useful to provide to the board

and that plan shouldn't be all on one guy. if it is they have a larger problem. i heard all last year that we should wait until this year to draft a qb, well as i said then how do we known any of them are any better. this could go on forever waiting for the perfect qb to lead the team. you have to start at square one first. hopefully the new staff has a plan and wants to do it their way. i do think the core of players is pretty good but it has to match what the staff wants to do first. if they have a much better plan in place wouldn't they just go with that plan? how do we know howard couldn't be that plan? i saw him play in college and he seemed to learn from his mistakes and grow from them and limit them. that's a good start, he's coachable.

We have starting QBs on the roster. Mason's been ready to take over for 8 years. Howard is a national champ in college who has the frame and can scoot, and needs some development as far as carrying the team. But under the previous coach we have not been giving the reins to these quarterbacks, If Khan drafted Bo Nix, Drake Maye, CJ Stroud, they'd be sitting on the bench for 8 years with the previous regime.
As far as the defense, we need roster improvements everywhere for the new scheme. Need to get faster and younger. Khan's been doing that little by little. Hopefully with the new coaching input it will get done faster.

Someone has to say truth here. I was one of first to say Tomlin should go after afc championship depantsing Belicheat gave Tomlin. I got crushed saying that then and we have not won a playoff game since.

We spend too much on defense. #1 in NFL and they were garbage in games against anyone with a pulse. Our GM refuses to get a second wr for the team for two years. The league is focused on the offense now if you did not know. Surprise there . All teams who win the Super bowl are in top ten and we rock out 26th and below now. Owner is cheap as we spend less money then most teams are allowed because his net worth is near the bottom of owners in the league. Mom and pop nfl franchises are like a dodo bird. Obsolete.

There is a distinct difference between relating facts and then relating facts coupling them with your personal opinions an interpretation of data and calling it truth. It's the truth as you see it, not how I see it or someone else.

Only top ten offense win Super Bowls now...fact.
Steelers defense is most expensive in the league....fact.
Our offense has stunk since big ben got hurt.......fact.
Tomlin did not win a playoff game since being thoroughly outcoached by Belichick. ...fact.
GM did not address a number 2 wr last two years....fact.
Cheap owners dont win super bowls anymore....fact. One of lowest net worths in league...fact.
