I dont think the new HC will have to fire Smith, I expect him to have already moved on.

I dont see Austin getting any interview offers but his contract is up so nothing has to be done to move on from him.

I think Myers contract is also up so he’ll just fade away, too.

Nothing against Arthur Smith but I don't get it why teams are wasting their time interviewing him for HC, he's a mid-OC and a not good HC with Atlanta.

I think there's a benefit for teams to interview coaches.

They likely ask them about what direction they'd take the team in. So they can get kind of "free consulting" on possible directions for the team.

And interviewing them basically costs teams nothing by NFL budgets. A round trip flight and a couple nights in a nice hotel. Honestly, maybe not even that for preliminary interviews which can probably be done via Zoom.

That's what usually happens when a new head coach takes over, he hires his own staff. He may keep a couple of coaches further down the troth, but the OC, DC, and Oline coach will surely be replaced.

Hope he takes his blanket with him. Jonnu could redeem himself in the desert.

I believe the Steeler directed Tomlin to keep Dick LeBeau when he was tired as HC.

Other than that one example, they should clean house. Art Smith is hopelessly stuck in the 90's and has a love affair with Jonnu Smith.

Best of luck to both Pat Meyers and Arthur Smith.

Isn't Teryl Austin's contract up as well?! If that is the case, his time is about to be over. Clean slate indeed.

That said, keeping the likes of Tom Arth, Zach Azzanni, Karl Dunbar, Scott McCurley, Alfredo Roberts and Eddie Faulkner should be key. Those coaches definitely have proven themselves for certain.

There might be some holdovers but generally a new HC will bring his guys on board. Faulkner is highly respected so maybe they keep him on.

And wonder what will become of Bubblegum Danny

Bubblegum Danny might just hang em up as well. Isn't he in his 70s too?! He also might want to get on with his life's work.

As for the positional coaches?! Fair enough. That said, Tomlin kept Cowhers staff largely in tact when he was hired. I suspect that the New HC will likely do the same; namely with the Positional Coaches. It is the OC and DC who are in dire need of replacing.

    Of that, we agree. :drinks:

I think Meyer has done a good job but if the new coach can bring in an upgrade he should
