Because we're not beating the Ravens. Specially after how they played today and without DK.

If no QB falls, I think we trade back with someone at 30, so we get a late second. And then take WR or CB

This is premature because we don't know that we're not beating the Ravens.

What today showed you we can beat them? Defense gifted turnovers to the offense and we feel flat..... Ravens are better at offense and Defense than three browns.

What showed we could beat the Lions? That's why you play the games rather than run a simulator.

Won’t matter. Tomlin couldn’t develop a nose bleed if he punched himself in the face.

Who's to say they pick at 18 if they lose. They could easily be 16 or 17. How the other 8-8 teams do next week could shake up how 15-18 ends up as well. Plus the Steelers could also find a way to beat the Ravens. Anything is possible with this weird team. They beat the Ravens in Baltimore a few weeks ago, and they're just as fractured at the coaching positions as we are.

It depends on Tomlin. If he is still with the Steelers then it doesn't matter who the Steelers pick.

If he is gone then something along the OL or a CB. I don't like WRs in the first round unless they are a 9/10. The Steelers have shown they can get WRs after the 1st round. I doubt a worthy QB would be available at 18(if we are at 18). After Mendoza who is really worth a top 20 pick? Simpson? Perhaps, but I have read he is on the shorter side of 6', 2". He will also need to put on some weight.

What is really needed is an entirely new coaching staff.

The Ravens can't stop anyone. They lucked out and got a crashing GB team that could not stop the run and had no QB. (Willis flashes but is no Jordan Love)

But I will admit, we are badly damaged to the point where we cannot take advantage of that.

Trade up from 18 to draft a QB and we all get to b**** and moan that Tomlin and Smith and Tom Arth cannot develop a QB.

We have not played the final game yet, but the odds of winning are 40/60 in my opinion.

I do not think we will win a playoff game which will make it 9 years in a row currently of not winning a playoff game tying the modern NFL ( since the AFL-NFL merger ) head coaching record. Move over Marvin Lewis! Next year Tomlin can go for the NFL head coaching record of not winning a playoff game for 10 years in a row.

I think we need to address LG, WR, QB, with our top 5 picks ( round 1, 2, 3, 3, and 3 )

The $64,000 question for me is can Will Howard start at quarterback for us and become a top 15 NFL QB?

If the team is sure he can, then do not draft a QB on day one or two. If there is doubt then draft a QB in round 1,2, or 3.

Premature, but fun to speculate. Who do you like at 18? Or is this just another complaint thread poorly disguised?

I'm thinking we trade back to 30. Take a WR like concepion or lemon.

    Unless Simpson or Moore drops.

Denzel Boston WR, is that doable?

Ty Simpson you mean. Otherwise I would understand. My major pushback is that if Simpson even declares.

Time will tell on that one.

    Doable?! Yes.

Should he be the pick?! No. For me, Pittsburgh needs a WR that is a PhD in Route Running. Denzel is good but Makai Lemon is much better. That said, should Carnell Tate be within striking distance, I'd trade up for him. He is the best Wide Receiver in the class and is worth the trade up.

That said, Pittsburgh should also take a look at ILB. Only ILB I'd select is Sonny Styles but he will be long gone. Sonny truly is a one of one generational talent at ILB and talents like him don't come around often.

Who to pick at 18?! Impossible to say. It is impossible to determine who will be on the board as the NFL Draft is just that random of an event. A lot of weird events happen during the draft and, due to that level of uncertainty, it is impossible to gauge who will be on the board vs. who wont. There are exceptions in terms of prospects, as is the case every year, of who won't be available. In general though?! Some players will go higher than they should and others will go lower.

I personally can give the OP the positions I'd target; WR, IOL, CB and ILB. Pittsburgh has glaring issues at each and each are worth considering. Quarterback should also be added but 2026 may have two QBs only (three at most should Ty Simpson declare). Of those three, I'd consider only one of them to be worthy of selecting in Round One in Fernando Mendoza; a player I can confidentially say, along with others, will be long, long gone by the time Pittsburgh is selecting at pick 18.. presumably anyways. Offensive Tackle would be another position I'd consider although this position is dependent on the health of Broderick Jones. How bad is that stinger?! That is yet to be determined.

I can say this; should the Steelers invite several high level OT Prospects for a Pre Draft Visit in addition to visiting their Pro Days, that would most definitely be a sign that Broderick may not be coming back to begin 2026 or worse.

Agree on Sonny Styles, but I also agree with you that he is very likely to be gone by 18-20 range when we pick.

I also agree on Lemon about routes, but him being 5-11 195 compared to Boston 6-4 210 x wideout who can play z and f in bunch formations, I have Boston ahead of Lemon. Also, I want to point out for those watching these wide receivers on YT, pay attention to how Boston attacks the DBs and creates leverage. To me, he reminds me of Larry Fitz. That's why that would be the pick for me over Lemon and Tate who is more of a Pickens type. I understand these are little nuances open to opinion and preference, but that's my take on it.

Not very well up on the prospects but WR is an absolute must. I know you can get some good ones later in the draft but most of the best WR’s in the league are first rounders, JSN, Chase, Jefferson, London etc. I would love if they could add a talent like that to the roster to complement DK

For the last two seasons I will never understand why not have a legit #2 for even depth when #1 goes down.

Makes the defense prepare for so much more with safety help I would think.
