They were too conservative for long stretches in most games this season. Play small ball when your defense is playing well and you have a 2 or 3 possession lead. Not when you're behind.

They play scared, and then they throw 20% balls on 4th and 1.

In fairness, and given the caliber of our coaching staff, maybe they didn’t think to do this. The dink and dunk passes combined with throwing to the same receiver regardless of how many times that he dropped it, seemed to be Tomlin’s battle cry this afternoon.

The worst thing is, the AFC looks like dog**** this year. No Mahomes, Ravens look like ass, Chargers are awful, Bills look awful again, NE and Denver just solid, not really an elite team in it.

Being too scared to throw over the middle has been going on for years - Tomlin mandated, they use the crosser over the middle, as much as they used the wishbone offense. Or flying wedge for that matter,

I’m not so sure that Rodgers didn’t call those last few plays?

To me, Smith is the kind of OC that makes it necessary to hire a Passing Game Coordinator. I respect some of what he calls close to the line of scrimmage, but the routes his receivers run aren't efficient, and he has a tendency to lean more toward spreading the ball around than focusing on a player that can do more damage. It was one of the main complaints with him in Atlanta.

As far as marching orders, to me it doesn't matter how much Tomlin is influencing a more conservative approach from Smith, because what he should be doing is influencing him to focus on a more aggressive scheme that exploits the other team's weaknesses. That we didn't pepper the seams with Freiermuth/Smith when Schweissinger was down to one leg was enough for me to charge both of them with dereliction of duty.

This is what I kept saying throughout the game. It looked like they were playing more to stop Garret from getting his record than they were playing to actually win the game/division/etc.

    It was Gainwell

They should be celebrating a division title today, this is pure selfishness by Rodgers trying to get his guy the TD. MVS isnt close to being the best player on the field, no way should you force the ball to him 3 times in a row.

Back to back weeks of selfish play on this team.

I got Sunday Ticket for the last 7 games for what I thought was the bargain price of 48 dollars. At this point, I overpaid.:smiley1:

This was a horrible game by Rodgers. Throwing long and low percentage pass to MVS on 4th and 1 when we are in field goal range. Just go for the first down. Taking sacks when we are in field goal range. Going to MVS 3 times in a row with game on the line when he hasn't done anything all game and is covered by their best CB, Ward. Arthur smith was no better. Use the middle of the field. They are covering short flares to the sides. Just horrible. Rodgers mindset is evident when he slid just before the markers a yard short in order to avoid a hit. He's done and not winning anything.

It was absolutely dreadful from the outset.

Russell Wilson would have dove heard first and got that FD.

Tomlin won;t let anyoine use the middle of the field that's why nearly everying is behind the LOS or at the boundaries. This has been the case for years.

Bottom line, you’ve Aaron Frick n Rodgers, a first ballot HOFer, who many consider one of the greatest passers of ALL TIME AND he can still throw.

We had NO passing offense in a game for a possible SB.

Murray wouldn't shock me either. That said, doesn't he have a no trade clause or was that clause voided?!

That's why it made no sense for MVS to lead the team in targets he's a journeyman WR, it should've been Gainwell or Muth getting the most targets.

I disagree. I don't think Rudolph would put out 10, 7, 6 point stinkers. (Today, Bills, Chargers)
Rodgers has played poorly, bottom of the league type poorly, dumpster fire low lows.

Bad coaching decisions deciding to go for it on 4th downs:
After the Sawyer interception they get no points because on 4th and they throw in the endzone incomplete
And in the 4th quarter with over 2:00 minutes left going for it on 4th and 10 gave the Browns an easy FG, it made no sense because they had all three timeouts just punt.
Maybe the game would've been 10-9 at that point and then they only need a FG to win instead of a TD.
