I laugh that people really think Billionaires, and multimillionaires thats life has been football, really care what a bunch of drunk mobs of people, that most can't tell a simple zone, from man, unless its pointed out to them think. I would say history shows they don't.
    They aren't the Cleveland Browns.

I will give the staff their due. But I am not going to go overboard throwing praise. The Steelers completely left their foot off the gas in the 4th quarter. If not for McDaniel's complete mismanagement of the clock, that game would have been a nail biter, and there was no reason for it to be.

I will take the win, but I am in agreement with @HeinzMustard@HeinzMustard on this one. Let's see how this team looks in Detroit.

The win was in the bag. There was no way the Fins were going to come close to even tying the game down by 19 with under three minutes to go. Tua having to throw the ball should scare no one. You coach the game to get it over with without a serious injury.

It’s risky to take your foot off the gas. Steelers benefitted from McDaniels thinking they were in the first quarter still.

Bottom line: NFL is not rigged. If it was, Ravens would be winning division.

I'm not talking about the last 3 minutes. I am talking about the entire 4th quarter. If the Dolphins would have shown any urgency at all, the game would have gotten way to close for comfort.

You do remember that the Steelers were up by 25 until 9:48 left of the 4th quarter?? That was the 1st td by the Dolphins.
If the Steelers O had milked any of the clock they had opportunities to , the D wouldn't had to keep everything in front of them.

Going for it on 4th down .. Half time adjustments .. I see this more as “Great. Our inept HC finally grew a set and did something every other HC in the NFL does weekly more than I see it as “hey guys, we got something special brewing here”.

Personally, I still think the Lions beat us by 2+ scores and we’re bounced immediately in the Wild Card.

I do remember. The Steelers took their foot off the gas both offensively, and defensively. Had they not, they could have milked the clock a bit.

I am all for playing turtle ball with a big lead, but not for an entire quarter of football. The Dolphins helped us out. They huddled up and ran the play clock down on every down. I'm sure McDaniel had some explaining to do in Miami.

I have no problem with the way the steelers played in the fourth quarter....They had a 4 possession lead. The only chance the dolphins had was if the steelers were giving several big play on defense and several incomplete pass or turnovers on offense. The lead was safe with few minutes left

Monday nights game was crazy with how much Troy Aikman went after Mike McDaniel in the 2nd half for his time management.

Everytime the dolphins had the ball Aikman was all over McDaniel for not being in a hurry to do anything.

That was probably the extent of his coaching tree. Mommy’s basement with Madden.

A little over a minute into the 4th quarter. That's a long time to turtle. Tua has had an awful year, and he struggles with pressure. But he is still a competent enough passer to pick apart a prevent. Had the Dolphins went hurry up, I guarantee you they would have scored at least another TD. Now imagine if that onside kick that Thielen didnt field had been recovered by Miami. You can go from blowout to oh **** pretty quick if you turtle for too long.

Your "fears" are entirely unfounded people. This whole "don't take your foot off the gas" thing is so overplayed.

Do me a favor. Use ai and tell us the last time the Steelers.lost a 25 point 4th quarter lead?
Heck the last time we lost a 25 point lead PERIOD.

Did ya happen to see the Minnesota game???

This team has struggled in pass coverage all season. Playing prevent defense for 14 straight minutes is a shaky proposition. Especially when you're playing run, run, pass, punt on offense.

The Steelers won. Fears were not realized. But if that same scenario would have happened against a more motivated team, things could have gotten interesting. That's all anyone is saying.

In the only game of Tomlins career that he lost a more than 2 TD lead (16 points) there was no turtling. It was a loss to the Chargers in 2018.

Lead by 16 at the half and in the second half ran only SEVEN TIMES and lost.

You guys panic every time we "turtle" with a a two touchdown lead. We have never lost a single time we have done that. We win by a smaller margin and time runs out and ya'll are in "what if" mode.

But you think about it. When have you actually said "we lost because we turtled?"

You know how big leads are REALLY lost? Too many 3 and outs from incompletions that don't use clock, giving more possessions for the other team. Unnecessary picks trying to "stay AGRESSIVE.,"

You are fans of the team that is literally the least likely to lose a big lead and since the days of BC have been whining about WINS that make you scared for no good reason

    Think about every time

Ever since NOLL we play safe with a lead AND IT WORKS.

"Interesting" and "lost" are two different things. We don't "lose" a lead like that. It has NEVER HAPPENED in team history.

You are critical of a strategy that literally had a ONE HUNDRED PERCENT SUCCESS RATE for the HISTORY OF THIS FRANCHISE, with a 20 point lead.
