Tomlin has been operating under the plug the biggest holes and hope for the best strategy for years. Outside of contracts to keep players on the team, they don't seem to really have any plans that go beyond the current season. As you said, he is never going to rebuild. It is always going to be something involving bringing some old vets to the team and hoping for the best......or at least another winning season.

A rebuild would almost certainly lead to at least one losing season. Can't see that happening until a losing season is forced upon us. Until then, hire vets and play for 9 wins.

I`m hoping Burrow wants to get out of Cincy and we snag him, LOL.

Unless the Steelers are going to go all in, and trade up to draft a (hopefully), franchise QB, I would want to see Howard given every opportunity to start.

What was supposed to be a strong and deep QB class in 2026 has morphed into a rather weak, top-heavy one. Maybe 3 QBs are first round worthy and even that might be a stretch. The rest have shown their warts in this college season.
Steelers should consider another position at their typical 20s pick # and give the Rudolph/Howard tandem the reigns in 2026. I'm not thrilled with either one, but the Steelers still have a healthy list of needs to make their roster championship worthy.

And a ton of picks to fill them with.

    This.

Drew has way too much talent to work with to have him leave thr 3rd. His age is his biggest factor no less. He still has time to turn it around and the glimpses have been there before.

I believe nabbing a Second Round Offensive Tackle would equally benefit as well. That said, if Vega Ionae from Penn State would be in striking distance in Round 2?! I'd say trade up for his ass. He would be an instant impact starter for the Steelers.

Vega was created for the Zone Offense.

Well, after Mendoza it looks like it will be slim pickings at QB.

I’m watching the Colts game planning for a QB who hasn’t played in 5 years and succeeding. I’m envious
