James came from small Florida Atlantic , was undrafted , and against the odds made the team and has made a NFL career for himself . Through hard work and perseverance he’s now back with the Steelers, on the 53 man Roster AND Most importantly Playing some darn good ball for us. I love an underdog success story.. All-Time favorite is Rocky (#20 )!!

I Believe he should continue to play over Slay!!! He’s Earned it!!!

I never thought I would be praising James Pierre, but the guy is playing sound football.

Don't get too excited about Pierre because Tomlin said Slay was going to be the starter.
    :frustrated:

Don't worry. He'll hurt himself again by the end of the first quarter.

I agree that Pierre should get the nod over Slay. That said, I doubted even then that Tomlin would place Slay over Pierre for the simple fact that Tomlin wasn't going to allow that to happen. It still pains me to see as the Steelers do need more of a youth movement there.

Pierre is 29; on the wrong side where most Corners production drops. That said, given what we have seen from Slay, I would still roll the dice with Pierre.

Can't believe given how well he's meshed in this defense, that you would even consider pulling him in favor of Slay who's not shown much of anything when he's been in the line-up.

First he's definitely a bigger corner and he's finally using that size to his advantage. Secondly, he's not letting himself get in trouble with how he's reading plays.

Pretty sure he is going to start Rodgers over Rudolph also.

I agree. Tomlin has his favourites. It's not about how well you play it's about the relationship you have with the coach. Honestly I will await Sundays outcome but I am pretty close to having seen enough of Rodgers.

It's nice that he seems like he's finally coming into his own. Unfortunately it happened much too late. History tells us that he may only have another year or two before he hits the CB wall.

But, he still has a chance to snag a pretty decent 2-3 year contract at the end of the year that could set him up for life.

Pretty much any contract that a player signs in the NFL should be enough to set them up for life unless you are AB, Pac-Man or some other type person who doesn’t have any sense of financings and protecting the assets. A good portion of the players live way beyond their means. Some of their necklaces probably costs twice as much as I paid for my house.

90% of people start over people in the NFL because of money, and draft status, and , or both. Until you just can't.
It's not the Steelers, it's the NFL, it's a business.
