I was surprised this was not already a post but I looked at the tv map and realized there was not much coverage

I don’t know how to use video clips so I’ll use words and hopefully someone will find the video

Darnell took a pass to the left and first sent a DB flying out of his way with a stiff arm and later on the same run sent another DB backwards ass over teacups

On another play to the right he was lead blocking and two dinky DB’s came up and he basically blocked both of them by pushing the first one backwards and took the second one out with the first one’s body

The man is a force to be reckoned with

If you put a DB against him it won’t work

If you substitute a LB then receivers should be one on one

And that’s all I have to say about that

Darnell was a Top 32 Player on my board heading into that 2023 Draft. The major reason he fell was due to a lack of production; something I did acknowledge back when I had my scouting report on him. That said, I also had stated that he could quickly outperform the concerns people had about him given his limited opportunities at Georgia. Years later and we are starting to see that manifest more and more.

Overall, among the Players I expect to receive an extension from Khan's Inaugural Draft Class, Darnell should be near the top; only Nick Herbig being better.

I can't imagine what a 6'0" 200lb defensive back thinks when that load is bearing down on you.

I liked the McDonald’s stiff arm 75 yard td play better, but Washington continues to show why I was screaming for the Steelers to draft him.

Have to wonder if Rudolph will continue to target him like Rodgers did. Obviously he and Rodgers were building a connection.

Assuming Rudolph stays in at QB.

This title would be a great band name from the 50s-60s era.

It's the whole reason I was upset when some people were talking about turning him into a OL man. That can be way later in his career, but at his age now if would be ridiculous to only use him for that.

That's is a serious question, because they all see thing differently. Let's hope he will if he starts.

The thing is, if he CAN be a quality offensive tackle, it would be to his financial advantage to make the switch. Tackles get paid way more than tight ends.

But it wouldn't benefit us too the fullest. He is still out there blocking, and there for passes. He has plenty of time to make the switch later. JMO

    Seamalu will need replacing

If Jones doesn’t suddenly improve he will need replacing

C RG and LT are good for years

It depends on how good he can be at tackle. A tackle affects every play. He’s very valuable as a run blocker, but if we use him in pass protection (other than chipping) it takes an eligible receiver out of the play.

I would take a quality LT over what we get from him as a TE.

Again, that’s predicated on him being able to be a quality LT, which is a very big if.

We're finally getting the Washington we were hoping for on draft day.

Funny, I looked up the comments when he got drafted and forgot how excited I was. When I thought we might get him at #80(before trading to #93) I posted this:

"Look, I'm just gonna say this right now, if we get Washington at #80, I might not be on for awhile. I'll have to go away. Go away to the hills. Let my beard grow long. Eat raw groundhog and grubs. I'll need time to recover."

    Then at #93:
    "I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!! HAHAHA!"

    That was a fun day.

Here it is if you want to remember your reactions . https://thesteelersfans.com/forums/...23-nfl-draft-thread-no-spoilers.30621/page-81
