Mason will not start if rogers is healthy and it has nothing to due with talent but everything to due with tomlins pride. He will never admit Mason is better than Wilson , fields and the chicago rejects tomlin loved . He will never admit he was wrong . Way past time for a HC who starts the best player not the ones he likes .

Mason isn’t better than those guys.

He has good games in him and bad games. Hes a solid back up.

I feel like it was unremarkable at worst? Why bad?

If you want to claim they performed better with him in there, that is accurate, but all this stuff about more pep in their step or more heart feels like posters making things up to make Rudolph seem better than he is.

To me, it was just the body language of the offensive line... it might be the offensive line line guys really don't really like Rodgers or are tired of his sub par play.

I'm glad the Steelers won how embarrassing would it have been to get swept by the Bengals without Burrow or Hendrickson.

Never been a Rodgers fan prior to playing for the Steelers. Haven't really had much dislike either outside of the Super Bowl thing. Couldn't care less about his Covid weirdness. Truth be told, kind of like what he has brought to the team.

With all that being said, over all the post play antics. The grumpy old man thing is getting tiresome. And it is every single unsuccessful play it seems like.

Yeah I'm torn on that... on one hand I like how he holds guys accountable...because I think for a long time this team has suffered from lack of attention to detail.

But also it comes off a bit unlikeable.

Agree on the accountability and he holds himself to a standard as well which I like, just feels a bit overcooked.

When it counted to save mickys no losing season who stepped up , it was not the starters in your opinion but the guy you brand as only a backup at best .

I`m thinking we should let Rudolph take the beating the next two games.

If we could just put Rodgers brain in Rudolph's body ... maybe I'm watching too much Frankenstein on Netflix :p

u think that’s why Jones tackled Rodgers after that long TD in the first cinci game? Jones wanted Rodgers out of the game?

It was a very pleasing game. The defense didn't need those turnovers-> points, but they were excellent icing on the cake to complete a dominant performance by the defense. Getting this defense turnt around may have been one of Tomlins better coaching performances in a decade. I still have my doubts we finish with more than 8 wins, but this outlook could've been much more grim without getting the defense fixed. But they have some huge tests ahead of them with the Bills, Bears and Ravens 2x.

As for the offense, outside of the scripted plays in the 1Q, the offense continued to sputter in the 1H. Mason definitely provided a spark, and I think he can hold the torch until Rodgers comes back. Washington is a DAWG and needs more YAC opportunities. I hope Warren is ok and he needs 15-20 carries a game. Smith and Rodgers are allergic to being committed to the run game despite it being effective.
