And Ken Stabler, he would stumble in just before game time after a night of carousing and then go out and throw 3 touchdowns.

It seems like there’s a lot of daydreaming going on in this thread. AR said he planned on this year being it and I believe he meant that. He wanted a farewell tour and we were able to provide that. I forsee a lot of Ls coming over these next 9 weeks and it should become more clear that he won’t be signing back up to play with a mediocre team that is lead by an incompetent coaching staff.

Hard to speculate. He said it was his last year, but if we make a run... why wouldn't he want to come back? Make some money and give it one more go. Though, if we miss the playoffs or something, then why would he want to come back? There's such a wide range of outcomes for the rest of our season and I think that this year's outcome will weigh heavily with ARod's decision. Let's just let the season unfold and see where the chips fall before speculating further.

Need to draft then Develop! The development has been below the line for some time.

They will have picks at their disposal. Provided they are not sold on a QB and Rogers stays they can build. 3 thirds and 3 sixes could be used to move up for a top flight corner, a #2 receiver and a guard. To me this is what I would like to see with the first 3 picks.

But alas its the 2025 season. Always good to want to upgrade for the future.

See I believe they have done well with JPJ. I believe he gets a lot of criticism that He doesn't deserve. He gets called for PI twice last game, and only one was actually PI, and yet He still got 4 tackles, a sack, a dropped int, and a actual int. That's not bad at all. If the refs actually called both teams for the same way they call JPJ, the other teams would have just as many PIs, or more. Hell we watched DK get face guarded, and brought down in the endzone by Indys CB, but apparently there was no PI

What leads you to believe that we are going to make a run? This is where I’m getting lost. Just because Burrows and Lamar missed some games and the Colts had a bad day doesn’t make us a threat of any kind. We’re still being lead by the same individual who has a long history of playing down to inferior teams, failing to make necessary in game adjustments, and contributing to total collapses late in the season. Not to mention we were foolish enough to pay top dollar for an old and deteriorating defense.

So you’ll have to forgive me for not being able to see this vision of running it back again next year. I say we’re about 5-7 years past due for a complete and total rebuild, which includes dropping the ineffective HC that the ownership has handcuffed this fanbase to for far too long.

I'm not naive enough to think that the Colts "just had a bad day". We earned that win just as much as we earned the terrible loss in Cincinnati. We've proven that we can beat some teams with quality records and can lose to bad teams just as well. But there isn't a dominant team in the AFC and if our defense can capture some of what it had against the Colts and improve, then we absolutely can win in the postseason. We can just as easily miss the playoffs.

Besides, I never said that I thought we were going to make a run... There was no "vision" I was selling... All I was saying is that Rodgers could come back if we make a run. He could still retire if we did. No one knows but him, but if we do make a run then his chances of returning are non-zero. If we miss the playoffs, then his likelihood to return is basically zero. Its a moot point to speculate because we have 9 (or more) games left to play, and how those games turn out will weigh heavily in his decision.

If Rodgers thought this was a mediocre team with an incompetent coaching staff destined to have a lot of L's, he wouldn't have signed here in the first place. I'd say Rodgers has a higher opinion of the Steelers' team, coaching staff, and chances than you do.

Herbert knows a thing or two about being sacked. He is missing his star LT and RT and got sacked 6 times against the Titans :lolol:
