Post Game Loss Complaint Thread

Please dear lord bring in some special consulting to override the do what we do mentality and improve the defense.

 

I hate that this is my first post here, but I told my wife when Steelers were 4-1 that I thought it was just a lucky mirage. The team is just stale ( has been stale for awhile) and I don't see the season getting better.

I think it is time for a major tear down and rebuild across the organization. New coaching staff, cut or trade older players, and build with youth through the draft. I would even bring in a new GM as well. Bringing in a bunch of older veterans rarely works, particularly on defense, and it is not working for Steelers this year.

Art Jr. Needs to make some tough decisions this offseason, but my confidence in him doing that is low.

 

Anybody on the staff to take over calling the defense from Tomlin and Austin???

 

The special consulting the Steelers need to fix the defense will be the new head coach search process.

The defense is schematically terrible, coaching is nonexistent, and too much of the cap is invested in vastly underperforming talent.

 

Austin doesn’t even know where he is. Just a figure head for Mike and a fall guy to answer questions on Thursdays.

 

Tomlin needs fired but will miraculously go 9-8 and get a 400 year extension.

i said it in the GDT, but this is the worst coached defense i've ever seen from this franchise. lack of communication, lack of discipline, lack of ingenuity.. just awful all the way around. austin and tomlin have run this ship to the ground.

 

Im beginning to wish they had locked up Flores long term and retired Austin out the door. At least he was and is still creative.

 

DK and Herbig doing bonehead penalties did not help.

 

I’m beginning to wish there was a cannon strong enough to shoot MT into another galaxy. The moon is too close.

 

It’s all cool having Rodgers, but I feel it’s gonna set the Steelers back years for young QB development.

Jersey sales seems to be the only benefit.

 

What is the road to relevance?

 

Doesn't matter who calls the plays on defense, they're old and slow.

 

IMO, any talk of Tomlin going is just empty wishing. He has never had a losing season and the Rooney's are going to stay with him even if he has a losing season. They have been content to be mediocre for the last decade and I have seen nothing that makes me believe that has changed. The best that we can hope for is that we can get a new DC, and maybe a few other coaches as well. Promoting from within is probably not the best idea either. We need new blood with new ideas.

 

TJ Watt and Cam Heyward both sucked tonight and this season for the most part.

 

The severe lack of speed in the secondary is beginning to show. The only one that does have that much is Joey Porter Jr. Problem is, he is a penalty magnet waiting to happen. Jalen isn't what he was and the rest of the DBs are way too slow.


This is going to get nasty against the likes of Indy, the LA Chargers, Bears, Bengals (again), Bears and don't count out Baltimore just yet. Hell, I also wouldn't dismiss Miami either as that WR Corps is nothing but track stars.


Pittsburgh may be looking at 9-8 in all likelihood.
