    I agree.
Except for "poor choice of words" - We need a WR, it is that simple. And, for 2 years now.
I don't think he would cave in and give up a "king's ransom."
I know for a fact, there is a potential trade being discussed. I do not think he will pull it off as I 'think' the price is too high, speculation on my part.
In this case, I think Pat and a late pick is the highest I would go. In return I would expect to get the player and a later pick.

Omar is not a top tier GM, he is mid pack at best. He's adequate and yet also not stupid.
I think that if a deal is there and not too complicated, he might do it. I am not worried about him overspending. (You are dead on the mark there.. it is the right thing not to do)
For the time being, I think the nickname "Megatron" won't be passed on to some guy named Roman.

Agreed, and it would be infuriating to see them make that trade after letting Pickens go for just a third-round pick.

Pickens already has as many TDs this season as he had all of last season. That said, he still hasn't shown that he is a NFL level WR1. He still doesn't block well, or legally at times. He barely runs a route at all on run plays. He is a great athlete and a natural WR. He may turn into one of the best during his career. But currently, he is still not a team player.

Pickens having those TDs this early in the season is a product of Lamb being injured, of course he's going to get a lot more targets now.

You never know...but if we were that close on a deal I feel like we would have heard more about it during the bye.

OTOH, the Minkah trade came out of nowhere.

I voted no, but only because of the above. Brown would be disgruntled x 2 on our team with our conservative offense.

In a vacuum, I'd quickly give up overpaid Highsmith (injuries concerning me...all about availability) and Freiermuth for Brown, but we'd just gain the Eagles headache and lose DE/OLB depth in the process.

You defend the choice of words and then say you know for a fact there’s a potential deal being worked on right now. Assuming you’re correct and I have no reason to doubt you that alone is proof positive he’s not sitting on his hands. As for whether or not he’s a top tier GM I would say it’s a bit premature to be grading either way. I think it’s blatantly obvious he wasn’t happy with Colbert’s last few drafts. Basically everyone Colbert drafted has been jettisoned by Kahn. I think it’s also obvious that he has an idea of how this team should be constructed.

To answer this in resounding fashion. NOOOOOOOOOO!

MUTH showed up and balled out tonight.

Trading Highsmith would be a mistake. Sawyer played like a rookie and shows that the depth outside is poor.

I'd trade Highsmith yesterday for a 4th, especially when he really shows up 4 or 5 games a season, in-between injuries and dog Sh*t games like tonight

Did you see him throw the ball 70 yards on the Hail Mary? Almost every ball he throws is a perfect spiral.

Not saying it is the right move. But i do think we are going to be calling teams for WR.

You do know not all WR block, right? Heck not even all TE block.

pickens is a team player for the cowgirl. Go look at the cowgirl forum that talk about things he's done for them. As well how he secures the ball better than Lamb.

And not sure if you're aware but he's the only WR with over 5 TD. And he did that with not being the #1 for the first two games. Multiple times he's been #1 WR in the entire league for fantasy.

Oh and he's #3 in yards.

So what you talking about he's not a #1?

    It showed last night. ;)

    2 years, we've needed a #2.
I won't point to QB, as they've taken a couple shots.
As I've said, he's not the worst.... mid pack at best.
I know there was some communication for a WR, maybe last night punches him in face and inspires him.
Yet WR wasn't the exact reason for the loss but a little help wouldn't been bad.
If anything, it should drive him to draft to support the front 7.

I don't think a full disclosure is required. It's obvious I don't like the guy much and I have the experience with GM's to know enough that sometimes it is the structure of the franchise (chain of command/power structure) to give him some slack there, and monetary limitations do make an impact.
Colbert's shouldn't be the whipping boy; he helped put together some pretty good teams. He did slip at the end though and Omar wasn't exactly dragged along during those last years; he did have some say.

So, yes, I am a bit rough on him. He's average. Nothing special at all.
Can he get better? That remains to be seen, but I think there's potential. This coming draft will be a really good opportunity for him to excel.
Stop drafting blue collar guys and get a couple playmakers, impact players. Players that teams have to adjust for.

Of note: There were quite a few pre-game reviews that echoed the same things.
Most reviews were based that Pittsburgh can be very good and win the division but lack impact players to get to the Super Bowl.
Tomlin also plays a part in this, I'm not blind to that. It's just a longer and yet different side of the story.
