You do realize that college football coaches are the teams’ primary recruiters, right?

Not really. They play a part, but from my experience, and what I've seen not , but half of it. If that was true tell me why LSU, Texas A&M, Alabama, and Ohio State still recruit in the top 10 almost every year no matter who is the HC.

Unless You can actually change the recruiting, changing HCs will not matter much, unless You are only looking to play in some meaningless bowl game. It's pretty simple. Name Me one team that has won a National Championship without a top 10 recruiting. Hell it's hard enough for the teams that recruit in the top 10 almost every year. People have unreasonable expectations for some of these schools. I think it's dumb to fire a coach middle of the year for a team that won't go anywhere. Why pay him to watch TV, and look for another job??
I've yet to see a team fire their HC in the middle of the season and then win a Championship. By all means fire him, but wait till the season is over.

You do know those stories of college coaches meeting with the players, and their families at their homes is for only certain players , this doesn't go for all 105 players. Many don't even meet the coach until later.

The expectations are unreasonable; they expect to win national championships and consistently beat the elite schools. Franklin helped revive the program from dark times. He has pushed hard to upgrade facilities and get into the big $$$ NIL game. Things have changed a lot for the better. Penn State is betting big that it can find a better football coach to move it to the next level. Perhaps they will find someone who can do it. Maybe more likely they won't? In some respects, Franklin is a victim of his own success, as he has pushed expectations for this season to the stratosphere. It's pretty shocking how quickly it crashed down in a few weeks. The offense never materialized with an overhyped quarterback and offensive line, and the defense failed with a new defensive coordinator.

But if they decided to fire him, then I agree with just doing it. If you want to give him a chance to see if he can get things straightened out, then fine. I don't know why they would wait otherwise, as it is a sunk cost. Additionally, the contract may include offset language (duty to mitigate), so if he finds a job, they might pay less. I bet incoming money plays a role in it as well, rallying support rather than seeing donors withdraw as the losses pile up.

I agree with what You say, but I believe let the coaches play out the year, and then fire them.

As a matter of respect for the coach and players, I agree, but it is all about the money these days.

This doesn't hold water. When a HC leaves for a better school, some of his recruits will follow him ala Deion Sanders. If the HC gets fired for being ineffective, the top recruits usually find another school. These guys are committing to HC's who can develop them to take their game to the next level to get more $$$.

This is funny. What do you think HCs do?
Just stand on sidelines? Please grace me with the never ending philosophy you have about the duties of a HC

    They coach.
Believe me, I know that HCs in college don't personally recruit all 105 players on their teams. Leave it at that. Put it this way , if you don't believe me , we can bet any amount of money you feel like losing. Then I will show You the proof.
