Still have not seen season 1 of True Detective I see. IMO one of the greatest short series ever made. Not sure you have HBO/MAX but that is where it is. I can never watch it again but I loved it. The subject matter bothers me.

So you dig 50 year old women;) She has always turned me on. Something about her smile tears me up.

Proud to say she is a true Jersey girl!

Oh I can watch it, but I haven't yet. I'm still trying to catch up on the Dexter stuff, Star Trek:Enterprise, and True Detective is the next in line.

I thought Dahmer was more haunting, but my family was moving to Wisconsin when they caught him, so naturally I was close to everything that came out of that. Evan Peters did a fantastic job having that gaze - one part trying to figure out his interactions, the other resembling more the old Shaw quote on the eyes of a shark, "he's got lifeless eyes. Black eyes. Like a doll's eyes." That series took me right back to the early '90s and the horrors that were uncovered in that apartment. Then the end showed how so many connected with it were gone, along with the apartment building itself. Was a weird feeling.

Gein has never been as 'scary' to me either, partly because he was more a predator of the dead than living. But he definitely had the freak factor. There were elements to the series I didn't care for - the Adeline character, their portrayal of his relationship with Worden. To a smaller degree the intertwining of the Hitchcock angle - Psycho was a book before the film. Portraying things as if Hitchcock was hearing about Gein fresh (no pun intended) felt a little off. But I do agree with his impact on the pivot the horror genre made around that time - evolving from the Frankensteins, Wolfmen, and Draculas to the true monsters roaming the hillsides.

I agree that both portrayals had moments that made you feel bad for them. In Dahmer, the jailhouse conversation with his dad after they discovered his apartment. With Gein, the scene with the psychiatrist explaining what schizophrenia was.

Without Gein we have no Psycho, or Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies, probably a bunch I can't think of off the top of my head, but those two for a fact.

Without Gein it just would've been Kemper, Berdella, Heidnek, or Bundy. Unfortunately, the monster gene runs deep in humans.

Just started Criminal Record. It has Peter Capaldi, who previously played Doctor Who. So far it has been decent. Nothing amazing yet, but it kept my attention, so I'll keep watching.

I may have asked this before.
Trivia, and no cheating. What horror movie did Peter Capaldi play in with Hugh Grant in about 1987, or 88??

Many years ago Lauren Hutton came into the bar. After very little deliberation the decision was made to try and run a little game on the former supermodel. Yes, she was in her 50’s. Yes, she looked pretty freaking great. I crashed and burned in spectacular fashion. Not sure if that is the right phrase. It implies at least making a little headway and nothing could be further from the truth.A twentysomething bartender hitting on a 50 something supermodel. :lolol::lolol::lolol:

The Lair of the White Worm. Not a bad horror flick with a touch of comedy. If You ever watch any BBC, you will recognize a lot of the actors.
