Yet Franklin with his 4-21 record against top 10 teams has no worries about getting fired. I guess Penn St just happy to be a top 12 team.
Franklin has reached his plateau at PSU. Good coach , won’t win big games.
Sorta like Tomlin, good coach, but has reached his plateau at Pittsburgh, but no worries of getting fired.
Same situation, Steelers org happy to have non losing seasons.
Steelers won’t win a Super Bowl with Tomlin there. Can’t even get close getting hammered year after year in first rd of playoffs.
To both coaches, I would say thank you for all you have done, but it is time to move on.
This is sad but true.

 

Listening to sports radio, and lo and behold they brought up Lamar.
Discussing his 2 MVP awards, and how it doesn’t mean squat for reg season games. Come playoff time Lamar shows up on a milk carton” Has anybody seen him”?
Sound familiar? It should. Same goes with the Steelers come playoff time.

 

Franklin is the "Tomlin" of college football.

And to think Penn State hired the DC from Ohio State who won the title last year, he's the highest paid DC in CFB but his defense couldn't stop UCLA.

Do You ever get tired of trying to compare Tomlin with other coaches. How does a Coach that has won a Championship, and been to two compare to a Coach that hasn't even been to one???
Think hard now.

 

It's not always about coaching in college football, it's about the players they get.
For instance My team the Razorbacks go through coaches left, and right, yet they are usually the same exact team no matter who is coaching, and someone may say, well they are getting bad coaches......well those coaches do well before they come here, and do well after they leave, but not when they are here.

 

Some of the best talent in the B1G no less.

I don't mean to pour in on Penn State but my goodness. That game was complete coaching malpractice. $50 Million Dollar buyout or not, something needs to change.

They're done I don't see them winning out which means they have to beat Ohio State and Indiana.

 

To prove my point. It's been almost 40 years since Penn state has won a national championship, and none of the coaches have been able to achieve this. Yes the big 10 has lots of talent, but that doesn’t mean Penn State gets it.

Talent only goes so far anymore. Coaching has to match it. James Franklin just isn't it.


Side Note: I am still very much a Taylen Green Believer. I also believe he will be at least a Top 50 selection as well.

 

T. Green has broken my heart too much this year, and I can't even think about him anymore for now. LoL

 

Fair enough.


I still believe he is more than worthy of such a selection. Dude is an animal.

 

Std they have been a top 10 team for recruiting for years,
they already have a top 10 class of recruits for 2026
