That would be a bad look for the Raiders who gave Geno a contract that can reach 85 million

$24 million Base Salary this year. Had a roster bonus of $14 million this year that has already been paid in full. There is no Signing Bonus money spread for multiple years, or any Void years at the end in his contract.

If they cut him at the end of the year, they have a dead cap hit only of $18 million. Carries a 2026 cap hit of $26 million if they keep him on the team for 2026. The following year in 2027 he carries $0 in dead cap money if released.

I am sure they would love to draft a QB in the first in next years draft and then pay Gino $26 million to be his mentor for his 1st year.

These are not Kirk Cousins type numbers. Eating $18 million or paying your backup QB $26 million would not be the end of the world for an NFL team with a rookie QB.

I didn't like that contract when it happened Geno might get you 8-9 wins, but he's not worth 40 million a year. Seattle was smart to move on from him.

That seems like way too much by a factor of at least 3 for a back up QB. As for being a mentor, he is on his 5th NFL team in 12 seasons. He has a single playoff game to his credit and he lost it. 111 TDs to 79 INT ratio, career record as a starter is 41/46. That does not seem like the right guy to be a mentor. Losing record, only a bit better than a 1 to 1 TD to Interception ratio, no playoff wins. I really struggle to see anything there that he could pass on to help develop a rookie QB. What will he bring to the table that a QB coach can't?

It might be better for their rookie QB if they just eat the 18 million.......lol

Seems like click bait to me but I never thought Kenny was the problem with our offense.

The article smells like click bait for fans. With the way Geno is playing right now I think the rumor would be trading Wilson for Kenny to reunite Russ and Carrol. Maybe there is talk about trading for a proven QB if they bench Geno but the actual story makes no sense to me.

Article also predicted Wentz and Kenny are the 2 QB’s up for trade bait. Wentz is playing right now and Geno stinks. Why the hell would Wentz be trade bait?

He certainly wasn't the only thing wrong with those Canada offenses.

But not being able to throw TDs is a pretty big problem for QBs.

As is getting hurt every few games (and then getting outplayed by 3rd stringers: Mason and McKee).

Kenny did very little well. We, myself included wanted him to be the next guy naturally and made excuses for him. If you look at his body of work, it was awful. Probably the biggest thing going for him was he had some come from behind wins. Being clutch in big moments is a huge plus but the rest of his game stunk.

He did throw a really nice back shoulder down the sideline.

But you need to be able to do more than one thing to be successful under center in the NFL.

+1 on wanting him to work out. But happy that we cut bait early when it was clear that he wasn't a starter.

Playing so much worse than Mason was the death knell for him IMO. Mason is a career backup. And when he can come in and look 10x better than your starter, it means he's not a starter. Sadly for Kenny, he might not even be a QB2.

The injuries were the problem. Dude had a great chance to run the table when we were 7-4 and gets hurt.

It happens but it sure seemed to happen to Kenny far too often.

The TD thing was a problem but Canada played a huge role in that. We were really conservative until the 4th quarter in a lot of games.

If the only problem with Kenny was the situation he found himself in with the Steelers, he wouldn't have cycled through 4th teams in a year and a half.

Are you thinking he would have some how grown a set of balls if he had been drafted by someone else

Little balls to match his hands

    Edit: I misread this
