well i hate this week and hate for them to have it this early but we should get a few guys healed up and back and are in first place in the division. here's hoping the others in this division get whooped on again. what you got planned for Sunday with no steelers ball?

i found a new butcher we tried. black angus beef. right on their own farm. never used them before. had a whole cow on the hook skinned ready to process when i stopped. we will see how good it is this weekend. wife had to stop at the bakery in town too. yes i had half of one of her goodies. not bad. that's twice now we have been there and that half was all i've eaten. dang this clean living stinks. :smiley1:

Wife in NM for a week so it's cereal. So easy to prepare. Now I know why Seinfeld had so many boxes in the house. I guess I better wash the bowls before I run out of them.

Camping this weekend with Potato Soup tonight that friends are making. Chili tomorrow that I am making and steak burgers for a final pool party on Sunday. Gonna be 86 degrees here so I’ll probably get in that 79 degree water. I’ll be cutting firewood so it will feel pretty refreshing.

Santa Fe and Albuquerque with old College roommates. She has zero interest in the show Breaking Bad but I think the other girls did and are going to the house it was filmed at. When my son went the old lady living there got pissed.

Santa Fe has some very good restaurants also Taos

Did you know when the pilgrims were celebrating the first thanksgiving because they didn’t starve to death there were already hotels and restaurants in Santa Fe

They could have just gone out for dinner

My wife is from a place that is now a ghost town

Carnitas tacos with pickled red onions, chopped cilantro, queso fresco, and salsa verde (or an avocado salsa. But I prefer salsa verde).

Sides? Who needs a side? But I'm sure my better half will also be making Spanish rice and a bean dish.

    Best way to buy meat.
Well since we're not playing, it doesn't matter. Probably spaghetti, and then back to the magic winning egg roles next week.

I have it too. Yeah. Cilantro tastes like soap.

But i can tolerate a little bit if it's only a small part of a cacophony of flavors. And she keeps the cilantro separate usually so I don't need to have it... more a topping than an ingredient.

A gene that a small percentage of the population (maybe 10-25%) has that enables us to taste compounds most can't.

And it makes cilantro taste like soap. Which is a shame because I think it smells wonderful.

My wife makes them. They work well on pulled pork sandwiches too.

Great week for a bye, since the first week in October is always our leaf peeping weekend in the Catskills. Sunday will be beer, oysters, and one fancy schmancy charcuterie in the evening. And a large glass of bourbon.

Interesting I don’t like cilantro lime juice or jalapeno

But I make a marinade out of the three plus oil to grill skirt steak for fajitas and I guess the hot coals burn off gas off whatever it is that I find offensive because I love this marinade
