Same for Donovan McNabb with the eagles in 2008!

He was a veteran of 10 seasons at that time!

most of these players didn’t graduate from college and college games don’t end in ties.

I was just saw that they declared him out for the season, so I was checking the thread to see if it was here. That is a huge loss for them. He's a beast. I hate to see that happen and hope he will be okay long term. Spinal issues, especially the neck, are no joke.

I don't think either guy was a college graduate. I know Burress wasn't, though maybe he went back and finished his degree later.

I don't blame pro level athletes for not graduating. Go play and make all the money you can. You can always go back once you retire. 30 something, even 40? Plenty of time. People go to college for the end game of making better money. I know some people never leave the academia, I'm talking generally.

Off you could make millions mowing yards around the neighborhood, would you go get a degree instead?

I don't blame them, either, but someone had mentioned that these are college graduates and that is not true.

Chase was frustrated playing with Browning at QB, I'm not sure Zac Taylor makes it through the season.

A lot of them do get their degree after their playing career is over.

When your team has more penalties than 1st downs you probably shouldn't make it through the season

The Cleveland Browns are expected to bench veteran quarterback Joe Flacco and start rookie Dillon Gabriel moving forward, beginning with Sunday's overseas game against Minnesota, sources tell CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz.
The change comes shortly after coach Kevin Stefanski sidestepped questions about potentially changing quarterbacks following Week 4's 34-10 loss to the Lions that dropped Cleveland to 1-3 on the 2025 season.
Gabriel's first start will be in Week 5 when the Browns face the Vikings in London. He will be the first quarterback to make his first NFL start outside the United States, according to CBS Sports research.

It seems like the right time to make the switch. The defense should be able to give them a great chance to win no matter who starts at quarterback because the Vikings have Wentz playing behind a battered offensive line. If I was running the Browns, I certainly wouldn't want an undersized rookie quarterback making his first start in Pittsburgh.

In fairness, Roethlisberger owned the Browns so there is a bit of past bravado leaking out.

One of the losses we all remember was a playoff game Ben handed to the Browns with 4 interceptions and a fumble he stood looking at and refused to jump on

Steelers have beat the Browns more times than any other team 80

That was the snap that Pouncey sailed into the endzone. James Connor and Ben go there at the same time and both thinking the other one was going to recover it just stood and watched the Browns recover for a TD. I always thought that Connor should have jumped on the ball being much younger and more athletic than Ben.
