ended the night with 134 yards and two touchdowns.

man, I can not imagine what Pickens and DK would have looked like.

Tomlin is an idiot trading Pickens (when that is what he would have got next year with letting pickens walk on his own.)
    - DK cost second round pick and 33 million yearly
    - Pickens was let go for a third and 3.6 million this year.

Pickens will have a good season. But his destructive behavior would bring down the Steelers and I’m glad the headache isn’t here

I think they should have kept Pickens as well, but I highly doubt Steelers offense would be managed in a way to produce that much receiving yards for Pickens even with Rodgers as QB.

Yea, it's all rah rah when he is the lead WR. Let's watch how he handles being put back to WR2 when Lamb returns. If he was in the 'Burgh sharing targets with Metcalf you could bet on the weekly whinings.

Same ole Pickens though. I saw him slowly walking after a reception to another receiver. Play was still going and Pickens decided his only job is to catch the ball. No rushing to play. He is too good for that. He has no idea how to play to the whistle.

    Are you feeling inferior

Actually 3 out of 4 are 100% correct and one is close particularly if you account for Pickens bone head plays

The Steelers are better without him

You have a strange strong hate. Because pickens is #2/#3 on the cowboys. Last night was the first game he was used as #1 due to Lamp out.

The other thing is we let him go for a third. which we would have got at the end of this year. So we let him go for no reason.

While DK cost us 30 million more and a second round pick.

Cowboys won this trade more than we won the trade Claypool.

Huh? He's already been #2. Actually all the way to #4. For three games it's been like that.

Please learn what you're going to say before you spew non sense again.

He's been the #1 the last two weeks. When he gets bumped down he'll go back to his lackadaisical self.

Point is, the guy is producing,he have a QB and OL that can get him the ball..Our OL still sucks. Rogers can't be taking those sacks, won't last

Part of drafting is to pick the right players to fit in the right system.
Our draft guys are not particularly strong at this.
And we don't seem to manage them well either on the coaching system.

While I think Pickens was not a good fit here, there's no denying his talent. We saw it on some of those catches that were quite acrobatic.
As far as dealings, Omar is not particularly good at that either, maybe mid-pack among GM's.
Still, it was time to move on from Pickens as far as being a Steeler.
If our GM's were strong, they would evaluate why things went south...
If our Owner was a little more involved, then he would evaluate why we pick players that wreck here?
If our coaches were better, a little self-eval wouldn't hurt either.

    Pickens had a good night.
He is definitely an upgrade over Austin at #2 by far.

We've gotten through a really bad apple that was supposed to be an offensive coordinator.
We've gotten one that is 'Ok'
We've not had good luck with the QB's brought in till Rogers. QB's feed the ball to WR's.
Until Omar solves the QB spot, it's tough sledding after Rogers leaves.
It would hurt to look at some upgrades in coaching either.

As far as Pickens goes, well, Metcalf had a heck of a day too. He's a big and fast guy and gives Rogers a good target.
    He's also 100%.
Under the right circumstances, I wouldn't have minded that combo.
    But the decisions were made.

GP is an amazing talent and a complete headcase. Both are true.

Talk to me in a few weeks as the Cowboys season keeps circling the drain and he starts getting less work when CeeDee returns.

I don't think it's true that the Steelers automatically get a 3rd going into the last year of his contract. What if he gets injured?

Zero desire to pay that guy big money. People forget so quickly how much of a buffoon he was here.

    :roflmao::lolol::roflmao::roflmao::lolol:

    Just wow!

you started off your post with how he has not been a #2. I proved you wrong.

Stop moving the goal post like a browns fan trying to act like they have more superbowl wins than the steelers.

I'm still waiting on our draft picks from TJ trade, and I am confused why he is still playing with us.

to understand your logic, we have to play the "what if" game. which is what you are hoping for is an injury and to act worse than he did here (because he's acted the same over there, just the cowgirl fans and beat writers are not whinning).

Injury was an added IF...but def NOT something I am hoping for. Not sure where you got that idea. Point in brining it up was that there was zero chance they wanted to sign him long term so why risk it?

The cowgirl fans have had him for 4 games and not 3 years. Not rooting against him...just don't mind that they traded him.

I don't think that will happen. His problem was that he "checked out" easily when he wasn't engaged in the game. Dallas has been targeting him quite extensively and when that happens, he stays engaged in the game and his effort is normal. Dak is way better than any QB he played with for the Steelers, so there's just a level of trust that if he plays hard he's going to get the ball. That wasn't the case at all with Mitch/KFP/Russ. Once he's no longer involved in the game he starts to get emotional and then starts loafing a bit or acting like a clown.

We just have to come to terms with the fact that Pickens is a good player, and that he is extremely likely to have more yards and TD's this year than any one Steelers WR. The truth is (for as much as I like DK) that Pickens is a better WR than any WR we have on the team. We only traded him because he is a clown and we didn't want to deal with him anymore. There will be times he's a clown for Dallas too. If they can do a better job managing his personality than we did, then they will be the beneficiary of having his top 10-15 talent. We weren't able to do so, thus, we shipped him off for a 3rd round pick.

I'll take Metcalf over Pickens every time.

Pickens is a FA at the end of the year. Metcalf isn't.

I have no hate none whatsoever

I just know the Steelers are better without Pickens

I know so far they are better with Metcalf

    That’s all

I don't disagree that he is talented. He was not a good match for a Steelers team that wants to be a run first offense. They also want their receivers to occasionally block. This wasn't a strong point for Pickens.

The Bears got absolutely fleeced in the Claypool trade. They gave up a second for someone who did nothing and isn’t even in the league now. The Steelers were going to get a third in either scenario, so I don’t see how we got fleeced in the same way.

Had we waited, it would have been an end-of-the-round 3rd. With the Cowboys start to the season, it looks like we could be getting a mid-3rd or higher (plus the late round pick swap).

I see the argument that Pickens could have played out his last year here, but who is to say how that would have gone and what impacts there would be on team culture.

Always said Pickens wasn’t targeted enough in our offense.

Dude is a talent and for some reason the Pittsburgh media ran him out of town.
