My thoughts on reg season wk 4

1. This game has no business being this close

2. We almost got coached into a loss

3. O-line was good despite a few hiccups

4. Kenneth Gainwell stepped up

5. This is the Keanu Benton and Peyton Wilson that I've been waiting for

6. Watt and Herbig is a dynamic combo ...
Some big decisions on the way when Highsmith returns

7. Deshon Elliot made a big difference in the secondary

8. Muth appears to be in the coaches doghouse

9. We need to be using Darnell Washington a lot more in the offense .. especially near the goal line

10. A win is a win though

 

Love the big run package, with Anderson, Washington, Skowronick and Metcalf.
I don't know how many snaps Harmon played, but defense looks better when you have inside rushers like Harmon. All of a sudden Benton looks better.
Low snaps need to be cleaned up.
We need to figure out 4th and a yard game.
Game ball Gainwell. That clock milking drive in the mid fourth was critical.
I feel like Metcalf can always pick up four yards on bubble screens. Can't stop him there.
Can't do much about Tomlin.

 

Only Steelers can botch a 3 score lead.

 

Hated the decision to punt there. It's not like we had issues moving the ball during the game. You have to take chances in the league these days. This isn't 1999.

I thought the defense played the best game of the year. That run down of Addison was unbelievable. Rodgers was very good again.

A win is a win. 3-1

I agree with all of those, especially No. 7. Elliott is the best player in that secondary. Getting him back was huge.

 

Again, timeout use left something to be desired.....IMO

Play calling with a good lead is different than the play calling that got us that lead in the first place. The first is designed to get a lead. The second seems to be designed to give that lead away.

Only the Steelers can have a 18 point lead in the 4th quarter and still have the game outcome in question during the final seconds.

 

Botched? Oh I thought the Steelers won. Maybe we watched different games

 

Maybe he stopped watching and just thought they lost.

 

He’s just one of the many around here that win,lose,or draw will cry about anything imaginable

 

I want Steelers to win by 3 scores. Sick of these cardiac finishes. Steelers dominated this game. It shouldn't have been decided in the last seconds. Poor coaching.

Ravens had a similar lead against the Bills. Difference is, the Steelers won

 

Josh Allen is a much better QB too but I agree it was a awful choke by the ravens

• I couldn't believe neither Olsen nor his PBP saw the utility the practicality of kicking the FG toward the end - Tomlin I'm used to

P Wilson may have saved the game with that hustle play. How could Addison be so open in that situation???

 

Communication problem again

 

That’s unacceptable for a Professional Team to have these issues over and over. You can’t get beat over the top there you have to make them eat clock.

 

Washington had THREE - 3 - Tres - 2 more than 1 - 1 more than 2 - CATCHES - WTF? Crazy I say!

Players blew a coverage today and gave the Vikes that huge gain. Luckily another player didn't give up and kept it from being a score.

I didn't see if we blew it or if the Vikings just made a good play on the FG block. Then we go on 4th and goal instead of kicking. We left 6 points out there.

Don't blame the coaches. At worst they cost us 3pts with not kicking on 4th and goal.


Seahawks? Again, those were player mistakes.


We have ARod, DK, Gainwell, KJ, Jonnu all in their 4th game together in this offense. And we're 3-1. That's a good thing. Hopefully it gets better.
