I agree, but doesn't that fly in the face of what many people say on here about not forming game plans, and just doing what they do???
I also believe we have been adjusting to how much pressure Rodgers is getting also.
For instance if we are doing well yet Rodgers is getting beat up bad, I believe they adjust to keep him upright, and survive the game. Then go back when we have to.

The offense would be helped if the defense could get off the field. More opportunities for the offense would be nice.

My issue used to be after the script and before Ben starting orchestrating the 4th quarter drives.

Even in the killer B's era, we had a habit of looking great in the 1st quarter only to look lost for the next two.

I think that shows up in Arians Offense more than the others, but I believe that we were tops in the league on 1st quarter points scored with him, and bad on 2rd, and 3rd quarter Offense , but I could be remembering this wrong.

I'd have to look it up. I remember getting flashbacks last week after we started off strong then struggled.

I think the best we had in 3 games is 28 minutes against the Pats. Not sure of this but I think we are close to the bottom in T.O.P.

How many more opportunities than +5 do they need?

Are you looking for just punts? Do turnovers not count?

I agree, the defense needs to force 4th down more. On 3rd and long they need to not give up all but 1 yard as well. But the offense needs to do its part by holding on to the ball when the defense gets it back.

They were not a good offense in the killer B's era in the first quarter...In fact it was often a problem in the Tomlin era.The killer B's era was at their best at the end of the second quarter and in the fourth quarter when the focus of the teams was only to score!

The defense are on the field for 3:18 per drive after 3 games(30th in the nfl)so yes he is right....The offense are on the field for only 2:27 on the field,28th in the NFL,so both deserve blame on that. The defense need more 3 and out,it been a problem for years now.It would been better if the pats iat the end of the second quarter had a 3 and out and the offense could likely take the ball close to midfield instead to wait until under 15 seconds left to have a red zone turnovers....

It is true, there were plenty of drives with Ben that went nowhere to the frustration of all. But then, when time was short and the outcome of the game was at hand, Ben had a way of leading the team to victory. So too, the defense had a way of getting a crucial stop at the right moment. That didn't happen against the Seahawks when we all wanted it to.

Yeah, looks like there's some selective memory bias coming in on my part. While there are a few metrics you could point to, team splits over a three-year section don't really show an indicator of them consistently having more success in the first than second quarters.

Still, there were definitely games where I wondered why they shifted strategies in the second quarter after the defense couldn't find a way to stop them in the first. I mean, one has to find something to complain about. ;)

Speaking of Mike, he is coming to The Hard Rock Casino by me for a comedy show. Seems he has taken up comedy.

You dig the horror stuff. David Arquette is coming to AC for a show about the making of Scream.

I think AC is running out of people to have for shows;)

2015 was the year the Steelers were more aggressive on offense, but remember, Ben missed four games that year, but when he was our QB, the Steelers were like first in the league in points per drive. 2016 was our worst offense in the Killer B's era, since the Steelers had major wide receiver and TE issues after AB, and they became a first-run team in the second half of the season.

2017 is a good example of what I was talking about, same thing for 2014.

Bell was limited to six games in 2015 as well IIRC.

I think there were times when they did better after adjustments, just as there were some games when they came out better at the opening. Not seeing anything that points dramatically one way or the other.
