First time I saw him was him coming out a tunnel at the old Vet stadium in Philly. We were seated at the tunnel and he gave us a wave when he saw the Steeler shirts. Pre-season game but I enjoyed the win.

Both are mentioned as GOATs within their positions. Thing is, MJGs is more concrete while Rod Woodson always seems to be the thorn in Mel's side. As far as I am concerned though, Mel Blount is on the Mt. Rushmore of Cornerbacks in NFL History; Night Train Lane, Deion and the aforementioned Rod being the other three.

Darrelle Revis though has been rocketing up GOAT lists in recent years.

    Franco

As Mean Joe likes to tell it, ‘the Steelers didn’t start winning until Franco joined the team’. Certainly an oversimplification by Mean Joe because he had so much respect for Franco as the overall talent was improving at the same time. But nonetheless, maybe some truth to it.

They changed a rule for Ernie Holmes

They changed a rule for Hines Ward

They aren’t even waving at the top of the list

They changed a rule for Ward, and He should be at the top of a list. .
They changed the Rules because of Mel, and it didn't matter, he still was awesome. I don't remember the Holmes rule change
